Just back from seeing Kings of Leon at the O2, they were Absolutely amazing I was right at the front and have some awesome pics I've just downloaded on my flickr so they should be in the gallery tomorrow hope you like them ^_^ (I even got one of Nathan blowing a bubble) ;p

Dragonforce, Turisas

At the Astoria last night, I was pleasantly surprised by Turisas (despite the 2 guitarists looking like they'd escaped from Rohan and the Violinist an Orc) said violinist was amazing and the female accordian player looked like she was having a great time. They were much better than I had imagined, the singers finnish accent was very attractive to listen to and great fun, their fans all painted red and black with horned hats and axes were really entertaining.I think I might even get their CD. Now to Dragonforce,despite meeting Sam and Vadim cruising the queue outside and being severely insulted by Sam (he called me 'old!' and all 'I' wanted was a photo), I won't say anymore except for the fact he didn't look exactly 'young' himself, if he is he looks much older god help him when he's my age, the new found 'fame' due to Guitar Hero as obviously gone to some of their heads. Dragonforce are superb at what they do Herman is such a star he gives 1000% and is clearly having the time of his life,is such a talent and so cute too! They interact with the audience a lot and as its quite a small venue (2000 people I think), ZP the singer at one point was throwing bottles of water to the people upstairs as he has lots of spare time during guitar solos which are amazing to watch and don't get tedious. Sam can be seen downing beers at almost every oportunity. They played a lot of the new songs from UltraBeatdown, when they came on for the encore they asked if anyone wanted a beer and two girls(who had been behind us standing in the queue outside) came on with maid outfits with trays of beer, which the band threw out to crowd soaking everyone with beer ( although Herman could be seen actually handing them to those who could reach). The last song was 'Through the Fire and Flames' and everyone went mental.The set was about 2 hours, as their songs are between 6 to 14 minutes long thats about 10 songs. I had a great time had a quite good view but left with the same thought I have when I see any band, why is it that 6 foot giants always seem to be attracted to stand in front of me as I am just 5' 3" it so upsets me, there should be markers or something like what they have for rides at Thorpe park and the like where there are measuring devices and the short people get to be in front and tall people behind, what do you think? Ive posted some pics.
