Good morning, Veeps! Another cold, Monday morning here! Hope you all have a great day (and week)! I have the usual routine today -- take the little one to preschool and hang out at the library for a few hours while waiting for her. I finally got a new laptop last month...so at least it makes the time go by faster. Then back home to cook and clean and maybe catch "Dancing with the Stars" on TV. Fun, huh? Welcome to my boring life... LOL! Anybody have anything exciting planned?

Wow, I didn't realize it's been so long since I've been back here. I've been pretty busy since I was last on back in the spring and didn't have the time to check in as much as I wanted to -- so I sort of just stayed away. I've missed hanging around here. After looking at my Friends list, I see I'm not the only one with an extended absence :( -- but that's OK, I'm always up for making some new friends. Have a great weekend!

As I said before, I've been doing a lot of work around my house recently. It's fairly old, at least for around here, dating back to about 1910. I put a new wood floor in my bedroom last weekend, and I've spent all this week painting the walls. All was well until today, when I caught myself talking to my brushes....i think the paint fumes must really be getting to me....maybe it's time to move on to a new project. LOL!

I haven't been around much lately. I see I've missed out on all kinds of new changes here in the last couple of weeks. I like the Kudos thing but I'm not sure I understand the purpose of the Popularity Index. I dunno...

Anyway, I've been busy trying to get an early start on my spring cleaning. What a chore! Plus, we are putting in some new wood floors in the house -- out with all the carpeting! That of course means that the furniture must all be shuffled around -- which is an even bigger chore in itself and very inconvenient.

Oh yeah, I wanted to see if anyone here is watching American Idol? If you are, what do you think of the show? My mom is TOTALLY addicted to it -- so I hear about it all the time. LOL!

Hey guys and gals,

Unfortunately, we got hit by another winter storm last night. Now, when I say "winter storm", I actually mean 20 hours of (practically horizontal) freezing rain and sleet and ICE!

Anyway, last night I was all snug and comfy, watching Saturday Night Live -- with musical guest Arcade Fire -- when low and behold, the electricity went OUT! How wonderful! <--- I'm being sarcastic here!

No TV...NO computer (hence no Virgin Radio).... NO nothing -- but candlelight and books (what are those?) Oh yeah, and, since we had no power, we had NO HEAT!

This just makes me realize if I was one of the those frontierspeople back in the 1800's, who had nothing but books and candlelight, I wouldn't have lasted long... LOL! Take me Back to the Future!

By the way, I think I saw that Snow Patrol will be the musical guest on March 17th. Hope I'm right!

Funny story (if you're an Eagles fan)...

About 3 or 4 months ago, my husband called and said, "Hey, guess where I am? I'm in Winslow, Arizona."

Of course, not missing a beat, I responded with the obligatory, "Is it such a fine sight to see?"

OK, guys, quit booing and hissing and throwing things at me....guess you had to be there to think it was funny......but IT WAS! LOL! By the way, he didn't see any girls in flat bed Fords.

Oh yeah, and if you didn't know already, the song is "Take It Easy" by the Eagles. :o)

How is everyone's weekend going so far? Weather's been decent here so I was out and about yesterday doing some shopping. Still very cold here -- not so much fun running from my truck into the store... and even worse trying to run back to the truck carrying bags of groceries. So cold!

I was thinkin' about going to the movies tonight...but I'm just too lazy. Think I'll just stay home and finish my taxes (how fun!) and listen to Virgin. So much for a wild and crazy Saturday night. Have a good one!

Did I hear Suggs say today that Americans overdo using the word "awesome"?

I say it all the time and I don't think I overuse it.

For instance...

"That's an awesome peanut butter and jelly sandwich."

or

"Whoa, You've got some awesome shoelaces in those awesome shoes."

Or just...

Wow! What an awesome-ly awesome day. It's flippin' Awe-SOME outside!"

See...that's not so bad....

P.S. I also say "cool" a lot, too. ;o)

Darn you, Virgin Radio!!! It's almost 3:30 am here and I can't tear myself away from the computer to go to bed. LOL!

Oh great, now the dog wants outside...I'm determined not to open the door until the sun comes out. It's -4 F here right now -- the coldest day of the year by far. (Let's see, in celsius I guess that would be about -20 C.) There's no way I'm opening that door!

Now, if you'd just play one bad song -- I could get some rest.... :o)

Super Bowl XLI Anyone?

Anyone watching the Super Bowl this Sunday? My Chicago Bears are back in the Super Bowl after 21 years. I love football! I...am...SO... excited!

I read that Billy Joel will sing the National Anthem and Prince will perform during the Half-time show. I hope Prince sings some of his older songs. I'm not much of a fan of any of his music beyond the 1980's.

Usually I watch the Super Bowl just for the new commercials and the Half-time show, but this year I'm actually interested in the outcome of the game. I can't wait! Go Bears!

on Virgin Radio this morning that I haven't heard in close to 20 years, "Cars and Girls" by Prefab Sprout. That brings back memories...

I remember when "The King of Rock 'n Roll" came out back in 1988. I was in high school at the time and it was played on the radio (and I think on VH1 or MTV) for a very brief time here. I ran right out and bought the the CD, From Langley Park to Memphis.

I think I must have been only one of a handful of people who bought it -- because I don't think the CD did that well in America. LOL! It's too bad. I listened to it so much, I practically wore out my CD.

I have to say, if not for Virgin Radio I wouldn't hear half the new music I get to hear on VR. Sadly, radio station choices are pretty much limited to Country and Oldies -- not a lot of new pop/rock music in my area.

I just watched the video for the new Mika song, Grace Kelly, and I love the video just as much as the song. Very lively and fun! I hope the song picks up some steam and becomes a big hit over here. *fingers crossed*
