The Norwegian Forest cat
Cats arrived in Norway by around AD 1000, at which time Vikings maintained trade routes with the Byzantine east.
This cat's ancestry can be traced back to longhaired turkish cats. The harsh scandinavian winter favoured large, longhaired cats which became popular with farmers.
Also known as the Wegie-they are superb climbers and hunters and love to fish.
They come in numeroous colours and are long haired
