Blur to play secret gig tonight..!

Graham Coxon has dropped some tantalising hints about a secret Blur gig today (June 15). Tweeting on his Twitter account, the Coxmeister said, "Mornin all! "Midlife..." is out today and to celebrate we're gonna play some songs in london! ITS FOR REAL. look!"

Tickets are available from the O2 Brixton Academy box office from 11am, and numbers are limited to just 170. The band launched their comeback tour last night with a show at Colchester's East Anglian Railway Museum.

Editors Announce Tour Dates

Editors have announced plans for a new tour to follow the release of their third album 'In This Light And On This Evening'. The band will be playing Manchester's Academy on October 16 and the HMV Apollo in Hammersmith on the 21st.

Hard Rock Calling have announced more artists for their 2009 season in Hyde Park. Playing alongside The Killers on Friday June 26 will be Howling Bells, Metric and Silversun Pickups.

Supporting Neil Young on Saturday June 27 will be The Magic Numbers, Johnny Flynn, Mumford And Sons and Priscilla Ahn.

On Sunday June 28 - aka Bruce Springsteen Day - James Morrison, Starsailor, Joshua Radin and Low Anthem will all be playing.

Return of The Libertines

THE LIBERTINES have not split up for good and will reform in the future.

Babyshamble drummer Adam Ficek said it was only a 'matter of time' before the band reunited.

He spoke just days after Carl Barat, Pete Doherty and Gary Powell reunited on stage at London's Rhythm Factory for a one off show last week.

He told BBC 6 Music: "I'm sure they'll get together at some point. I think they should make people wait and make people really want them."

The Libertines split in 2004 after personal problems between Barat and Doherty, reportedly caused by Doherty's growing drug addiction.

Ficek added: "Obviously there is a lot of history between them both but I don’t really get involved with personal relationships and take sides.

"I just let them get on with it. They put on a great show at the Rhythm Factory so who knows."

He also revealed that Babyshambles are well on their way with recording their new album.

He explained: "We're in the studio, in and out in between Pete's solo shows and festival dates. We're just getting together new songs for the next album."

Kaiser Chiefs Deny Split.

KAISER CHIEFS have denied reports that they have been dropped by their record label.

The band rubbished stories published this weekend that B-Unique had terminated their contract due to poor sales of their third studio album Off With Their Heads.

A spokesperson for the band denied the allegations that there had been a change in the agreement.

Speaking to NME, they said: "The band has two records left to run on an existing contract. Kaiser Chiefs will take their first break in six years at the end of the summer.

"As with many successful artists, the band is considering creative options to improve the way their music reaches people ahead of their fourth album."

Kasabian launch album with secret gig.

KASABIAN have announced that they will launch their new album with a secret gig.

The band, whose third album West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum is released on June 8, will play a live show on May 20 and will play songs from the new offering.

The location will be revealed on the day of the gig and fans can apply for tickets through Kasabian's official website.

Kasabian were recently added to the Glastonbury lineup as "special guests" to Bruce Springsteen.

Blur Announce Support for Hyde Park

BLUR have revealed the support bands that will join them for their concerts at Hyde Park this summer.

The reformed Britpop band will be supported by Foals, Crystal Castles, Friendly Fires and the Hypnotic Brass Enesmble on July 2nd.

They will then be joined by Vampire Weekend, Amadou and Marian, Florence And The Machine and Deerhoof for the second and last date on July 3rd.

Blur also recently announced that Klaxons and Florence And The Machine will support them at their MEN Arena concert.

Woodstock's 40th Birthday

The festival’s organiser names his wish-list and says the legendary bash will utilise ‘as many green techniques as we can’.

The Woodstock festival looks set for a 40th anniversary this summer. The famous free festival took place in New York state in August 1969 and featured appearances from Jimi Hendrix, Bob Dylan, Santana, The Grateful Dead, Janis Joplin and more.

Co-founder Michael Lang again wants to stage a free show to mark the anniversary. "We want to have as small a carbon imprint as we can and use as many green techniques as we can."

"There would be a lot of legacy bands – The Who, Santana, Crosby, Stills & Nash, Joe Cocker maybe. And it would be people like Steve Earle and Ben Harper. There's certainly room for the Chili Peppers and Dave Matthews...That would be the shape of the music."

RAZORLIGHT - Tour Dates..!

Razorlight will be going out on tour from November 10th 2008.

The tour will open with a gig at Exeter University and will visit Brixton Academy, the Corn Exchange Edinburgh and Glasgow's Barrowlands.

The band can not wait to get back out there and play you their new material. Johnny has said "we're playing the best venues in the country, a proper rock and roll tour. We're going to give it everything". So you know it is not a tour to be missed.

Oasis' eagerly waited new album "Dig Out Your Soul" is released on 6th October on the band's own Big Brother Recordings label around the world.

The album will be available on four physical as well as digital formats. For the first time ever, Oasis are releasing a collectors edition box set of their new record.

The big Modfather news this week is the planned release of a 4 CD hard-back book set of exclusive Weller BBC sessions and live concert tracks recorded between 1990 and 2008.

'Weller at the BBC' will feature 74 digitally remastered tracks that span the length of Paul's solo career to date including a sprinkling of Jam and Style Council classics. It comes complete with a lavish 64 page booklet with extensive sleeve notes, new interviews with the man himself plus others, as well as a load of rare photos taken from the archive.

One hundred years ago, more than 100,000 tigers roamed the mountains, forests and tropical jungles of a vast region. This extended from the far north of Siberia to the Indonesian island of Bali and from Turkey to the eastern coasts of Russia and China. Today, fewer than 8,000 survive in the wild in small and isolated populations.

Of the nine original subspecies of tiger, three have become extinct in the past 70 years. The last Bali tiger died in the 1930s, the Caspian tiger followed in the 70s and the Javan tiger was forced into extinction in the 80s.

Now the remaining subspecies - the Bengal, Indo-Chinese, Malayan, Siberian, South China and Sumatran tigers - also face disappearing from the wild.

Tigers need large hunting grounds in order to survive, but the ever expanding human population is swallowing their habitat on a daily basis. Many tigers are killed by poachers who sell their skins and body parts as ingredients for traditional Chinese medicines.

Conservation efforts have been made for South China tigers to be reared in South Africa for example. However much more needs to be done. Tigers are one of the world's most adored animals and action has to be taken now before it's too late. We owe it to future generations to give tigers the protection they deserve, so that they too can have the opportunity to marvel at them as we have.

WOW!! What an Amazing time I've had the last few days..! First, blagged my way into a special gig to save The Hawley Arms pub in Camden. Was treated to the super cool Noel Fielding, his best mate Johnny Borrell from Razorlight, Helsinki - a spin off band from Babyshambles and even local gal Amy Winehouse sung for 10mins b4 exploding into a row with a DJ..!

Then my bf & I made our way to The V Festival in Chelmsford..! 7th time for me!! 2nd time for him. Absolutely BRILLIANT. Arrived to catch The Futureheads - who we first saw support Graham Coxon @ the Electric Ballroom gig. Loved Hounds of LOVE. Went t shirt shopping - bought a cool Kings of Leon one ; ) Other personal highlights included meeting Dave Berry - XFM DJ, swapping nail polish tips with Alexa Chung & seeing Justin Hawkins & various other celebs..! Also met someone I went to school with and was introduced to her husband & 8 yr old son. HELLO JASON : )

Back to the MUSIC.. LOVED Lenny Kravitz - SO COOOOL, Kings of Leon, Rock God Ashcroft & The Verve, Travis, Muse, Delays & The Prodigy. As a singer, I am in awe of all the artists and the CONNECTION made between singer and the audience..! AWESOME FESTIVAL - here's looking forward to V2009..!!!!! :D
