Not sure if it is me, but no matter which route I go down to get tickets I seem to end up being directed onto Ticketmaster site, Aloud.com, even Absolute Radio. And now they are buying Live Nation to according to a news item on this site a few days back. Is this a bad thing, allowing them to inflate already high commission charges without any competition?

Anyway, today was reasonably successful, got Editors for me and Miley Cyrus for my daughter, no luck with the Specials (again!). In the words of Meatloaf, 2 out of 3 ain't bad!

Well, Monday night was finally going to see Heaven 17, a band I loved in the 80s who rarely played live. They had planned a gig in the mid 90s at a new venue in London, I duly bought tickets and it was cancelled and never rescheduled. So Monday came around, and on the way to Hammersmith got caught in a massive traffic jam, 2 and 1/2 hours later arrived at venue - just as Heaven 17 finished their set! Whilst ABC were good and Human League excellent was still a big disappointment. Let us hope there will be another chance to see them,

Have to say that as I was having some work done indoors this weekend we had Absolute on all day both days and it was fantastic -2 days of non-stop quality music. Classics from the Beatles, the Stones plus some quality new tunes. Particularly enjoyed Don't Fear The Reaper, top track plus U2 and nirvana tracks that I dont hear too often.

A great station, definitely back to former glories

What a day, went to Hyde Park on Sunday and saw a number of amazing performances. Eddy Grant was a great early set, ran through all the hits. Goo Goo Dolls were excellent too. Switched to second stage for the Delays, very good, and Bowling for Soup, class act and very funny. Ben Harper amazing musically, perhaps a little too mellow but the Counting Crows - awesome.

just read a blog on recent bon jovi gig that was spoilt for the Vip due to the behaviour of a couple of drunk people. This made me think that this is one of those things that really winds me up. I pay a lot of money to go and see a band and dont want to have to listen to people shouting to each other over the music or generally behaving in a selfish way, not taking into consideration other people. Am I alone in finding more often that shows are ruined by the thoughtlessness of these people - what can be done to stop this?

Well the rock god status was only short lived as my ISP decided to knacker my service and took 4 days to restore it and now have returned to the ranks of a Supergroup Member. Best get cracking again. Well in part due to my earlier efforts we now have forums for Terence Trent D'Arby and Housemartins, will see if there are any other unhidden talents to be unearthed on VR

Well have been using this site for a couple of months now and have just achieved Rock God status :-)

Only down side is that was responding to a forum asking about a Lily Allen cover of an ELO track - bit like buying a naff first single and always remembering it even if you dont want to admit it.

well, what can I say. my teenage daughter has just moaned that I am hogging the computer using it for My space for old people!! This certainly seems more fun, music is my main love (stick the tv) and it is good to see other peoples views on stuff you love or loathe.

Funny how my daughter doesnt complain when I buy the new albums she wants, including todays purchase, The Kooks. Sounds ok on first play, not sure about the "bonus" album though

As quite a new VIP I am still finding my way around the site and workin gout what goes. One thing I find odd is some of the artists that are listed who I have never heard of, but others like 2 of my faves, Prefab Sprout and Terence Trent D'Arby are nowhere to be seen - is this right?

How do you get these talented artists on the pages to see whether I am the only fan?

I am sure there must be other artists that people cannot believe are missing, who are they?
