This, Film is a re-make of a 1974 classic. The original stared, Walter Matthau and Robert Shaw as the "good guy", "bad guy" (respectively) and the were truly wonderful.

I must say that I was very impressed with, what Tony Scott did with the story. Casting Denzel Washington, with John Travolta, "good guy", "bad guy" (respectively) was a stroke of pure genius. So porgie, says go out and either rent or buy the original, then go see the re-make and enjoy being amazed.

As an aside, The Beautiful Catherine (my wife) said that she liked what, Tony Scott, did with the story. He made John Travolta meaner than Robert Shaw, wayyyyyyyyy meaner!

I,myself like them equal, as they were made in different times. 25 years and the changes in movie making technologies is nothing short of a bunch of wonderful little miricles. So if you can see them both, then let me know what? you think.

And, remember porgie says expand your mind go to the Movies....................

Today, June 25/09, at around 12:26pm West Coast time, an ambulance was called to the house Michael Jackson was renting in L.A. Evidently he suffered a heart attack. And at around 3:30pm West Coast time he passed away, without regaining conciousness.

He had been training with Lou Ferrigno (the original Hulk) to get fit for his come back tour which was going to start in London next month. A sad day in entertainment first Farrah Facet and now later today Michael Jackson.

I hope he is remembered for the wonderful music he created mainly the three albums he did with Quincy Jones. Namely, Off the Wall, Thriller and Bad.

Yes I did read the book, I try to read a book, before I see a Film about it. This Film as with the DeVinci Code, stays very close to the book. The Film, really shows what a good read the book is.

The Film starts and almost instantly your brain is telling your eyes to stay fixed to the screen, because it does not want to miss a frame. This is a truly an enjoyable movie and should be seen by movie Lovers, the ones that Love to see a movie on the big screen ("The way it was meant to be seen") for the first time.

porgie says expand your mind go to the Movies...........

Just went to see the new Star Trek (J.J. Abrams) what a wonderful film. For all you Trekies (Lovers of the original) this film is a true pre-quil. It begins with Lames T. Kirks father being in the wrong place at definately the wrong time.

He dies moments after James T. is born. For all the details you will have to see the film. to put simply all the characters we all loved or disliked for whatever reason. they are all there.

I truly enjoyed this film and give it five out of five stars. So porgie says go see this film. If you do not like it please tell me why and if you enjoyed it, please do the same.

I go to the movies two or three times a month and will try and be more diligent in posting, films I think you all will enjoy.

porgie says make movies a part of your life, expand your mind go to the Movies
