If anyone is looking to rip their entire audio collection the Sony VGP-XL1B IS perfect. (the VGP-XL1B3 is actually the same as the rest but has vista software.)

Living in the US and yet listening to the UK music via VR. I have come to realise that the US music is starting to not differentiate itself from other US music... Is this a time for UK music revival in the US as of years gone by?

I tend to try to buy the UK music in the US and often its simply not available. How do you get around this - well rather than use amazon.com, I use amazon.co.uk - but now i pay more. The 'music import tax' seems like a poor show to enable the growth of the UK music in the US. Maybe record companies should offer the music at a lower price such that once the taxes are added it amounts to the same for the end user. The record companies may seem to make a lower margin on these exports but from a turnover perspective they will be rolling in it! (Lets not start the, they already are discussion!)

Freak Power

Before Fat Boy Slim was Fat Boy Slim but after he played bass guitar for the House Martins; Norman Cook played with Ashley Slater in a band called Freak Power and Its a Freakin good listen.

Check out the album Tune In, Turn On Drop Out.... It was recorded in the early 90's so its also cheap on amazon or another source like that....
