All I have heard for the last week is how the new president will change everything. Well I am not the most political of people (but I do vote in the elections) so what will change? The overall government still looks the same to me. And why should I be excited about this new president? I really do want (civil) answers to these questions. I have been on the planet for a few years and have travelled so I am fairly familiar with places outside of the U.S. and I just don't feel any more or less about this new president. Oh well back to work (hey maybe he can make sure that the company I work for stays around).

I just gotta rant for a moment. I have been working from home for the past few days and I keep getting the same dumb survey company calling me asking if I was a female . Now after telling NO they don't have the guts to tell me who they are (since I believe they are viloating the no call act but I need to find out more on that). They call when I am deep in other things and disrupt the work flow...So for now whatever music company wants a female opinion can go jump in a lake.

Well thirteen hours in a plane will give you a long chance to listen to your iPod. I got to listen deep in to things that I have not heard in a while old Smiths (is Morrisey still around?) and back to Bowie’s early albums. It is always interesting to see what is in the musical attic. I found the first two Police albums along with a Pearl Jam album and even Public Image Limited. What do you have in yours? I think the iPod (and all these MP3 players) are one of the most outstanding inventions. The ability to store your music collection and take it with you (and not use a truck to do it) almost replaces the radio although I like the randomness that you get on the radio sometimes.

Spent the last ten days travelling through China and Japan. Some of the things that I find that I miss are: Junk TV and the spoken english language. I am so glad that the internet and connectivity have improved so that I can stream all the things I miss (with the help of VPN back to the States).

Today is the last day of the journey so it is fitting that it is teaming rain here in Tokyo and I have to go out to get some breakfast. Oh well at least its not the smog of Beijing and I can breath. On to Chicago and then home...
