I swear it's been ages since I updated my blog - being a national youth work co-ordinator really doesn't give me time to write as often as I want!!

Since I last wrote I went to the V festival, it was OK. Have to say it wasn't my favourite year, and that had nothing to do with the weather! I didn't think the line-up was that strong to be honest. I did enjoy Paul Heaton's set and The View's set though. I didn't spend any time at the main stage, so can't comment on Amy's performance :)

Managed to get a ticket for the Cribs warm up gig on Tuesday 19th - that was quality. I was yards from Jonny Marr - that man is a GOD!

It doesn't matter how many times I go and watch the Cribs, they just get better and better. I love the audience interaction with Ryan - is it wrong that I find him quite sexy when he is performing??!!!

The let-down of the Cribs gig was the rudeness of two women who fought their way to the front (via my mates shoes) and then chatted to each other all the way through - mocking the bands accents!

I suggest that people that go to gigs just to chat should give their tickets to the real fans and do one!

Peace n Love

Got my ticket for V - it came this morning! All set for next weekend now.

Lets hope the sun is shining in Staffordshire next week - I may live in London but hate the pretenious of the Chelmsford crowd (all those BB rejects do my head in!!)

The Mr Hudson gig was quality last night, they came on at 11.15pm and played a blinding session - a mixture of the old tunes and some new tunes. Judging by the new stuff the next album should be great. They are playing at Fabric on November 14th if anyone is interested in seeing their live show.

Catch up with you all after V - I'm sure I'll have some great stories to share with you all.

I am having a nightmare!

I was over the moon when I answered the door on Wednesday to receive my V festival tickets - except..... when I opened the envelope I found two tickets for Staffs when I booked only one and the tickets were for a friend and for some reason were delivered to me by mistake! GUTTED!!!

Anyway, I can't find my booking reference and am panicing that I won't get my actual ticket and will miss out for the first time in 10 years - serves me right for booking them the day I got back last year.

Oh well, am going to see Mr Hudson (again) tonight in London - will have to spend tomorrow trying to sort the V ticket fiasco out!

Have been without computer access for a few weeks and I am suffering withdrawl symptoms bigtime!

Since my last post I went to the Zoo8 festival - it wasn't as bad as the media made out. True, there were a few acts that didn't show, but there was always something on stage so I wasn't too bothered. Mark Ronson and The Cribs both played blinding sets, and I would never of thought that I would have been in the front for the wicked Hives set on the Sunday night!

Made a point of seeing the Holloways and British Sea Power and am glad I did - they both entertained the crowd with a variety of 'wacky' behaviour ranging from playing a guitar whilst it was down their pants (BSP) to getting a crown surfer in a sleeping bag up on stage!

Also went to the Lovebox weekend in London - that was interesting. More refined crowd and a great line up. Really impressed with Hatcham Social and Dead Kids, Metros were OK too. Mr Hudson and the Library did another fautless set - they can do no wrong live! Highlight of the weekend was seeing Human League - reliving my 80's youth was quality!

Roll on the V fest - wish Cribs and Mr Hudson were playing!

Have been so busy at work that I haven't been able to spend time on here! I hate that my job interferes in my social life so much!

I am still working hard to attend at least one gig a month during 2008 - it was quite difficult in May as I had (drunkenly) agreed to watch Girls Aloud - it was good though so not too much of a waste of money.

I managed to get a ticket for Radiohead on 25th June which I am really happy about - woo hoo

Am going to the new Zoo Thousand and Eight festival in July, line up seems pretty good and I like to try new things. Am only going with one mate though, so if anyone else is going look out for us trying to make friends with all and sundry!

Peace n Love

OK, now I like to think that I am up to speed on music and that I can spot decent bands when they first come out - but I missed the Cribs bigtime!

I've been listening to their albums on my ipod now for over a month and they are the nuts. I saw them live last year and was a big worse for wear so didn't really remember much, saw them again this year (sober) and they were quality.

I am now hoping and praying that they decide to go back to the V festival this year, although I am gonna go and see them in July at the Zoo Thousand festival.

Now I really am a Realist!

On another note, went to see Supergrass last week at the Astoria (pity the venue's going!) and they can still rock like the young 'uns. Didn't think much of the support act, no rapport with the audience!

Is it just me or are Muse becoming 'TV Advert Ho's'?!

Every time the adverts come on I hear a Muse song, don't get me wrong I really like Muse but by allowing their music to be used in perfume ads makes me feel a bit sick - I can't really moan about the new Oxfam ad 'cos its for a cause, but those perfume ads seem to sell an image that most Muse fans don't aspire to!

Maybe its just me!

On my quest to go to at least one gig a month - I am finding it hard to find some decent gigs to go too. Maybe I am being too choosy but I really don't want to pay a fortune to see some shite in a shite venue!

Talking about Venues - as much as I really like Mayor Ken, what the f**k is he doing with regard to the Astoria? I am gutted that this icon of music is going - it may not be the 'cleanest' of venues but that place holds real fond memories for me! Maybe I am getting old!!

Next gig - Supergrass at Astoria - should be wicked!!

So you know what it's like, things are going great for you then all of a sudden BANG back down to earth you go!

It started when I managed to get tickets for the NME awards, seeing Nicky Wire's new red hair was great, and realising just how young the arctic monkeys are was amusing! Got to meet the Reverend, great bloke - had a pic taken. The gig was OK - still think the Klaxons are overrated! My opinion, so don't lose it!!

Then, literally I was bought back down to earth after a fall indoors - so Ive been laid up for just under a week and my God it is so tiring!!!

I was so excited that the line up for V was being announced, I had all radios in my house tuned in to make sure wherever I was lying I would hear - then................. gotta say not such a strong line up! Saw Muse and Verve live last year, both great bands but headline material? I was hoping for REM/Arctic Monkeys, even the Manics but no such luck. Then to make matters worse, Girls Aloud are playing the main stage! What the F**K is that all about? Am I alone in thinking that Virgin is going a bit poppy? Now I have no problems with this 'act' being in a tent (I can avoid that ) but main stage?

Anyway, rant over - except to say if the remaining 60 acts to be announced aren't decent then I quit - no more festival for me!

Adios amigos
