The Who at Knowsley Hall

Just got back from seeing The Who at Knowsley near Liverpool. God it poured just before they came on and hardly relented through their set. They were as exciting as ever but included some strange material. It was good to hear Relay again but Eminence Front just doesnt do it as a live number. Of the new stuff Fragments was good but Man in a Purple Dress was a downer. They included You Better You Bet which was also good to hear again amongst the usual classics.

In all a good night but i suspect they were saving a lot for tonight when they headline Glasto.

One final point the facilities for the disabled were appalling. Saw several people in wheelchairs struggling from the car park to the gig bogged down in mud. Surely some disabled ramp facilities wouldnt have been beyond the wit of the organisers!

The Kids are alright.

Just a coupla lines to say that not all rock stars are up their own asses.

I sent some pics and ticket stubs to Pete Townshend a while back asking if he could sign them. I got a letter back from his secretary saying he was busy recording but would attend to it later. Oh yeah i thought!

But he was as good as his word and they are all nicely framed duly signed and hold pride of place in my lounge.

Wow Just heard ive won a coupla tickets to The Who gig at Wembley on June 27th! Thank you Thank yo Thank you Virgin Radio!!!

I'm seeing them at Liverpool on the 23rd so its gonna be agreat few days.
