Pretty much any song by the Killers annoys me but this one takes the cake...

Here's an excerpt from wikipedia about this song...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Human_(The_Killers_song)

[ ... There has been considerable confusion and debate over the line "Are we human or are we dancer?" in the song's chorus. Many have incorrectly heard "denser" instead of "dancer", a change which significantly alters the interpretation of the song's meaning. On the band's official website, the biography section states that Flowers is singing "Are we human, or are we dancer?" and also says that the lyrics were inspired by a disparaging comment made by Hunter S. Thompson.

Entertainment Weekly's Pop Watch section called this line the "silliest lyrics of the week". They were puzzled by the interpretation, stating "most dancers are generally human". Ganz with Rolling Stone called the line "classic Killers' nonsense."
In an interview with Rolling Stone, Flowers said that he was irritated over the confusion: "It's supposed to be a dance song, [the beat] goes with the chorus...If you can't put that together, you're an idiot. I just don't get why there's a confusion about it." ... ]

If there ever was a vocalist more annoying than Barry Gibb, it would certainly be Kate Bush in her song "Wuthering Heights". I equate that song to my secondary school teacher scratching her nails on the blackboard. And because it brought back such hair-raising memories, I decided to google Kate Bush and find out more about the song. Good old wikipedia yielded some misheard lyrics:

...'In an August 2008 survey taken by hearing aid firm Amplifon the song came out tenth in the all time most hilariously misheard pop lyrics. Listeners misheard "It's me; I'm a tree, I'm a wombat. Oh, so cold at the end of your winter" when the actual lyrics are "Heathcliff! It's me, Cathy and I've come home oh, so cold, let me in-a your window".'...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wuthering_Heights_(song)

Strangely, this makes me want to listen to "Wuthering Heights" more just to hear the bit about the wombat...
