Bristol Zoo carpark attendant‏

From The Bristol Evening Post:

Outside Bristol Zoo is the car park, with spaces for 150 cars and 8 coaches. It has been manned 6 days a week for 23 years by the same charming and very polite car park attendant with the ticket machine. The charges are £1.00 per car and £5.00 per coach.

On Monday 1 June, he did not turn up for work. Bristol Zoo management phoned Bristol City Council to ask them to send a replacement parking attendant.

The Council said, "That car park is your responsibility."
The Zoo said, "The attendant was employed by the City Council... wasn't he?"
The Council said, "What attendant?"

Gone missing from his home is a man who has been taking daily the car park fees amounting to about £400.00 per day for the last 23 years!

Three Pints of Guiness

An Irishman walks into a bar in Dublin, orders three pints of Guinness and sits in the back of the room, drinking a sip out of each one in turn.

When he finished all three, he comes back to the bar and orders three more. The bartender says to him, 'You know, a pint goes flat after I draw it; It would taste better if you bought one at a time.'

The Irishman replies, 'Well, you see, I have two brothers. One is in America the other in Australia, and I'm here in Dublin. When we all left home, we promised that we'd drink this way to remember the days we all drank together.' The bartender admits that this is a nice custom, and leaves it there.

The Irishman becomes a regular in the bar and always drinks the same way: he orders three pints and drinks the three pints by taking drinks from each of them in turn. One day, he comes in and orders two pints.

All the other regulars' in the bar notice and fall silent. When he comes back to the bar for the second round, the bartender says, 'I don't want to intrude on your grief, but I wanted to offer my condolences on your great loss.' The Irishman looks confused for a moment, then the light dawns in his
eye and he laughs. 'Oh, no,' he says, 'Everyone is fine. It's me........I've quit drinking!'

The Polite Way

During one of her daily classes, a teacher trying to teach good manners asked her students the following question: 'Michael, if you were on a date having dinner with a nice young lady, how would you tell her that you have to go to the bathroom?' Michael said, 'Just a minute I have to go pee.' The teacher responded by saying, 'That would be rude and impolite. What about you Sherman, how would you say it?' Sherman said, 'I am sorry, but I really need to go to the bathroom. I'll be right back.' 'That's better, but it's still not very nice to say the word bathroom at the dinner table. And you, little Shamus, can you use your brain for once and show us your good manners?' 'I would say: Darling, may I please be excused for a moment? I have to shake hands with a very dear friend of mine, whom I hope to introduce to you after dinner.' The teacher fainted

Investments & Lager - Which is better?

Interesting analysis.........

If you had purchased £1000 of Northern Rock shares one year ago they would now be worth £4.95,

with HBOS, your £1000 would have been worth £16.50,

£1000 invested in XL Leisure would now be worth less than £5,

but if you bought £1000 worth of Tennents Lager one year ago, drank it all, then took the empty cans to an aluminium re-cycling plant, you would get £214.

So based on the above statistics the best current investment advice is................to drink heavily and re-cycle

Been trying to delete old shouts....does anyone know of any easier way than deleting individually?? its very painful.....should do so more often I guess...!!! VR should have an expiry date for old shouts and get rid of them,...I'm sure we'd get a lot less server crashes etc....!! ho hum..night all..sweet dreams...c ya tomorrow...Jax xxxxxx
