I recently saw Hobo Jones & The Junkyard Dogs supporting the Levellers. They dedicated a song to our prime minister Gordon Brown that had the crowd singing along. It is one of those songs that makes you chuckle with irony when you hear it. It was a rendition of "Gordon is a moron", a song made famous by Jilted John. This would be a great track to hear on the radio! Anyway you can hear it at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dsyVtTHtA_Q&feature=related

As we know some of the big festivals of the year are already sold out. So what about the smaller grass route festivals?

Can we put a list together of other smaller festivals that we at VR can recommend to each other?

A question once posed by Toyah Wilcox. Speaking of Toyah, I say her live a couple of years ago at a free summer festival at South Shields on Tyneside. I think it was the same year Midge Ure played. Ok many of us have not got tickets for V this year, but they are plenty of alternatives. Many big names of the past are still out there and are still putting on good shows. Likewise many of the little heard of people are also well worth a listen.

So who knows of good music events that we can still attend?

I am not mad enough to go cycling when the weather is against me. Today looks like it will be a PC and TV day.
