That's right! I'm off on holiday for a week! Going down to Southern France until next Saturday. :)

I really need a holiday right now. It's been a whole two months since my last one! Now that's just way TOO long!

Now someone has suggested that the only reason I'm going is because of Nat's Bubble machine. Now if she does have one then without even seeing it I'm envious of her; but I really hope that this SOMEONE isn't using it as some kind of euphemism!

So I hope you all have a great week. And if I can, I'll jump online and come and say "Hullo" to you all!

(PS. I'm not stalking Ms. Nathalie, it's just been a coincidence that I was in London at the same time as her last week, and that I may be near her home next week. Honestly!)...

Death of Michael confirmed

Los Angeles police have confirmed to KTLA that Pop star Michael Jackson has died at the age of 50.

Jackson was rushed to UCLA Medical Center by ambulance this afternoon after suffering from cardiac arrest, fire officials confirm. Los Angeles Fire Department Captain Steve Ruda said paramedics responded to a 911 call at Jackson's home around 12:26 p.m.

The 50-year old was not breathing when they arrived. The paramedics performed CPR and took him to UCLA Medical Center, Ruda says.

Jackson is renting a home in the Holmby Hills in the 100 block of Carolwood Drive off Sunset Boulevard. It is only a few minutes from the UCLA Medical Center.

Jackson's mother, Katherine, arrived at UCLA around 2:30 p.m. Jackson's father, Joe, who is in Las Vegas, told reporters earlier that son was "not doing well."

His sister Latoya reportedly ran from the hospital emergency room in tears after seeing her brother.

The emergency entrance at the UCLA Medical Center has been roped off Thursday with police tape. News trucks surrounded the hospital, helicopters flew overhead, and traffic was being redirected.

No word on the location of Jackson's 3 children, Michael Joseph Jackson, Jr., Paris Michael Katherine Jackson and Prince "Blanket" Michael Jackson II.

Michael Jackson Has Died

Michael Jackson dies in hospital after suffering a suspected heart attack, website TMZ has reported.

When paramedics arrived at his house he was not breathing, LA fire department captain Steve Ruda told the LA Times newspaper.

Jackson was given CPR by fire department paramedics as he was taken to UCLA Medical Center, the LA Times said.

The 911 call came in at 8.21pm from his Holmbly Hills home in LA, according to the TMZ website.

This story is now confirmed.

Wooo! Guess who's off to see AC/DC in Wembley tomorrow night?

That's right! Me! Honestly I can't wait. It's the first proper music event I've ever been to. (Live local bands playing in a park in Swansea don't really count...).

So I'm heading off to the bright light's of London to soak in the soothing sound's of HARD ROCK MUSIC.

And I found out earlier that Thin Lizzy are one of the support bands! What they'll be like without Phil Lynott is unknown... (To me anyway).

So I leave you with this...

But since she's also in London to see AC/DC I thought this picture could rival the one's Ian and Mum are doing while she's away! (They're going to love me for this! Absolute Radio has got it's first ever number one… podcast that is!

The newly launched Dave Gorman podcast is number 1 in the iTunes podcast chart as I write this.

If you didn’t know, Dave’s been covering for Frank while he’s been on holiday. It’s amazing to see how quickly Dave’s podcasts have grown among all the listeners. He’s only done 3 so far!

As was announced this morning, the worlds poshest travel reporter and sidekick is leaving the Breakfast show. This is genuinely sad news as she’s one of the nicest people I have ever heard presenting the travel. She’s a class act and I’m sure she'll be missed.

Blur at Hyde Park

Absolute Radio is going to be broadcasting Blur's entire Hyde Park concert. Make sure you tune in from 5pm on Sunday 5th July to hear their whole set.

The four-piece will be playing London's Hyde Park on 2 & 3 July. This is one gig that's not to be missed.

Frank Skinner

Frank Skinner has signed up to present his Saturday morning show for another year.

The comic and TV presenter made his full-time radio debut on Absolute in March. The new deal will see him continue to present until next summer.

Skinner presents the show with Emily Dean and Gareth Richards between 8am and 10am. The show is produced by Avalon Television, which has made all of Skinner's TV programmes, and is the first one made by an independent producer for Absolute.

He initially signed with Absolute on a three-month contract. Presenting a Sony Radio Academy award last month, Skinner said he had been enjoying his time in radio. "I think it's better than being on TV. At least, that's what my therapist tells me to say," he joked.

He said it was a novel experience being heckled by text message. "'Shut up and play some music' is my new catchphrase."

A spokeswoman for Absolute Radio said Skinner's show had proved "hugely popular with listeners with a huge amount of interaction to the show. It has been extended from the initial 12-week run to a year. It also opens up a new commercial sponsorship opportunity for Absolute Radio."

They claim that Shane MacGowan mentions them in his autobiography. Having seen them play in a pub in West Dryaton, Shane is said to have claimed that they influenced the sound of The Pogues. They broke up in 1984.

The Original Sinners

Praise from Kerrang Magazine and Metal Hammer was not enough to keep these guys going and they never quite made it. Back together to ‘live the rock’n'roll lifestyle, have a good time and meet girls.’

Voting begins on Thursday and we’ll have a winning band by Friday. They’ll be on the bill at Hard Rock Calling having One Last Dream come true.
