FM vs. MW

Can't get Virgin radio up here in the Midlands unless you use 1215 MW. I always thought the reception was pretty good, so was surprised when, on driving into London to visit family, I switched to the FM frequency and found I had much better sound quality. Didn;t realise there was so much difference. Amy MacDonald sounded far better on the clearer FM station, but it didn;t make much difference to the Kaiser Chiefs. Go figure.

Gosh that was a dull post. Oh well.

Does anyone know the capacity or atmosphere of this club? I like small, intimate venues - does this fit the bill or will I be barricaded 15 feet away from the stage so the music journos get all the decent pics?

...I like seem to be American or Canadian and rarely perform over here... anyone familiar with Sarah Harmer/Josh Ritter style music- do you have a recommendations for artists with a similar relaxed, acoustic sound with a light touch of humour??

You get to win competitions for getting off your arse and taking your children to school as well as doing a job? Big bloody deal, what's worthy of a trip to Prague about that? I don't think the other contestant was given a fair chance.

...is probably The Borderline in London. Small and intimate you get right up close to the performer and really connect with them and the other audience members. Perfect for the kind of acoustic artists I love to see live like Tom McRae or Sarah Harmer. I need to find out who's going to be playing there over the next month, then organise a trip to London... even better - if someone coudl recommend a similar club in the Midlands that'd be great!
