Sorry, I need to rant!

Is it just me or are some people stupid! - I've just spent the best part of an 30 minutes talking to a sales rep. who is trying to sell me a serivce I know my company won't use, He then sent me an email - calling me Susan!!!!! - Why would I want to meet and discuss business strategies with someone who can't even be bothered to get my name right! (Which is Maria by the way, so him using Susan isn't even close!) It makes me so angry!

Then, just after this call, I took another one, someone else offering something similar, this lady proceeded to argue with me about my company's requirements, and why I felt their services would not be of any use to us!

Who the hell do these people think they are! If you want to sell me something then listen to the details I give you! If I say your services are not what we are looking for, except it! Don't be rude and start ranting at me!

How on earth do they think they can get business that way!!!!!

Sorry - Just needed to get that off my chest.

Okay so what's your idea of a perfect first date?

I'm single and have had several disasterous first dates recently.

One being, the guy took me to a club where he spent the night just getting drunk, eyeing up all the other women and had also arranged to meet his mates there! - After a few hours I decided this/he wasn't for me so I decided to leave, he then got annoyed with me for saying as politely as possible "I'm really sorry, but I don't think this is going to work out, thank you for the invite though, i'll get a taxi home." to which he replied - "But I paid for you to get in here (the club) the least you could do is come home with me!"

Obviously I didn't go home with him - and please note he may have paid for the tickets to the club, but I'd bought the drinks.

The Best one I went on, we went horse riding, then had lunch in a local pub, despite it not working out, the date was lovely, the riding had given us something to talk about, and the lunch being quite informal had allowed use to relax and chat without feeling akward.

So my question is what makes a great first date for you.

Jon & Richie Induction to Song Writers Hall of Fame

I've heard that Jon and Richie are going to be inducted in to the Song Writers Hall of Fame, does anyone know if this is true?

I think they certainly deserve it, they write songs that people can relate to, and to me that makes a great song writer, the artists that write the soundtracks to our lives. I don't just mean the big punch anthems like living on a prayer or ballards such as always. But some of the lesser known tracks such as undivided, Something for the pain, two story town, last man standing etc etc

Tickle Me Elmo

There is a factory in Northern Minnesota which makes the Tickle Me Elmo toys. The toy laughs when you tickle it under the arms.

Well, Lena is hired at The Tickle Me Elmo factory and she reports for her first day promptly at 8:00 am.

The next day at 8:45 am there is a knock at the Personnel Manager's door. The Foreman throws open the door and begins to rant about the new employee..

He complains that she is incredibly slow and the whole line is backing up, putting the entire production line behind schedule.

The Personnel Manager decides he should see this for himself, so the 2 men march down to the factory floor. When they get there the line is so backed up that there are Tickle Me Elmo's all over the factory floor and they're really beginning to pile up. At the end of the line stands Lena surrounded by mountains of Tickle Me Elmo's.

She has a roll of plush red fabric and a huge bag of small marbles.

The 2 men watch in amazement as she cuts a little piece of fabric, wraps it around two marbles and begins to carefully sew the little package between Elmo's legs.

The Personnel Manager bursts into laughter. After several minutes of hysterics he pulls himself together and approaches Lena .

'I'm sorry,' he says to her, barely able to keep a straight face, 'but I think you misunderstood the instructions I gave you yesterday...'

'Your job is to give Elmo two test tickles.

Hi all

I need some help, I was watching the launch of this years comic relief, and had a thought, I work for a company that operates care homes all over East Anglia, what if we get all of the residents and staff in the homes to do something to raise money for comic relief?

I think it would be great fun for the residents but I need some suggestions, the residents range from age 60 - 100+, Any ideas that I can take to a meeting next week would be greatfully received!

hi all, hope you are all having a great weekend, I was thinking about some of my favourite songs, what they mean to me and why, in some songs its a particular lyric that means something, so here's mine

Bon Jovi(Of course) - It's my life - Its my life, it's now or never, I ain't gonna live forever.

The reason - Everything I did was to please others, I had a life that was heavily controlled by other people, this song and this line made me realise i needed to start living for myself, I was just existing and this song made me choose to live again.

Maybe a little deep or even corny, but I owe the life i now lead to this song and the lyrics from it.

What's your lyric of choice and why?

Hi all

Just thought I'd let you know I'm back from my holiday (and glad to be), my sister's wedding went great, hopefully I'll add some pics next week.

However, it was the most difficult holiday i've ever had, two weeks of doing nothing - and I really mean nothing - I was in the middle of nowhere, the nearest house was 4 miles away! and I was surrounded by fields - did have some nice walks though, and before the wedding going the hairdressers was the most exiting and adventurous thing to do. While many would relish the opportunity to literally do nothing for two weeks, I found it very hard. You can only read so many books! Has anyone else ever had this kind of experience?

okay i'm probably a bit behind with this - but Bret seems like a really nice guy, why on earth would he do a show like this? - I couldn't see him struggling to find someone special, i saw this programme for the first time last night, a lot of bitchy women in one house all competing for the same guy! - Must be a man's heaven having all these women fighting over him.

I haven't really listened to much Springsteen (Actually I probably have and not realised it, I tend to like songs rather than follow bands) But anyway, I heard him on the radio the other day, loved it, and wondered what would be the best album of his to buy - can you recommend the ones you like and what you think would be the best for me to buy as a starting point.

Hi all,

I wanted to know if anyone else out there has been reading / read the Hamsters Autobio?

I love watching Top Gear, mainly for the banter and the challenges that they do - and of course the Stig! (Personally I think the Top Gear team should be in charge of running the country with Jeremy Clarkson as PM :) )

Back to the book - I'm reading it at the moment, and it's just brilliant - It's had me laughing, crying, laughing again. My heart really goes out to this guy and his family, even just reading it I can sense how in love they are, the book is so well written and really from the heart, I was up until 3.30am reading it this morning, before realising I had to put it down as I had to be up for work just 2 1/2 hrs later.

Does anyone else have an opinon?
