(1464 views) Emerging entertainment company Mr. Theatre are celebrating the fourth instalment of their Time Out recommended new music and performance night, FANZINE, which pays tribute to cult pop and rock icons once a month in Vauxhall.
Launching in April, FANZINE #1 paid homage to the thin white duke, David Bowie. FANZINE #2 celebrated the first lady of blue-eyed soul, Dusty Springfield and June saw the team salute cult Scottish singer Billy Mackenzie at FANZINE #3. Continuing the Scottish association, their next night on Sunday August 12th will honour Eurythmics diva Annie Lennox at FANZINE #4.
Returning to the newly refurbished Vauxhall Griffin, FANZINE #4 will also see the launch of the team’s new prize quiz, Heroes or Zeroes, a zany trivia contest which will test punters knowledge of their favourite artist and a contrasting flop act – August sees Annie Lennox vs All Saints. Would you be able to name all of Annie’s solo albums in order? Or the original third member of All Saints? If you could, you might win a star prize – or a bit of old tat from the bargain bin instead!
FANZINE takes place on the second Sunday of every month upstairs at The Vauxhall Griffin,
8 Wyvil Road, London, SW8 2TH from 6 – 11 pm. Nearest tube: Vauxhall. Entry £5.00 on the door,
or for £4.00 guestlist, email: fanzinemusic@hotmail.co.uk

Each month, FANZINE pays tribute to a classic pop or cult rock performer and invites you to join in with open mic slots throughout the night. You can perform your own material or a song by our artist of the month. Anything goes – get inspired and dust off your 12-string, do a little dance, or pen a poem perhaps.
