Iraq: The legacy on Absolute Radio

Last year Gordon Brown announced 4,100 British troops would be pulling out of Iraq by the end of July 2009, having completed their mission.

Although the deadline has passed, some military advisers remain to smooth the handover of power to the Iraqi authorities.

Back home, a long awaited investigation into one of the most controversial wars in modern times is underway, with former Prime Minister Tony Blair due to give evidence.

In March 2009, the Absolute Radio news team spent a week in Basra, to mark the 6th anniversary of the start of the conflict, and to discover what legacy, if any, will live on.
