Sunday Night Music Club
Sunday nights from 10pm.
The Sunday Night Music Club is full to bursting with songs from some of our favourite artists. Straight after
Geoff Lloyd's Unknown Pleasures at 10pm,
Pete Donaldson will be playing our pick of the best new and currently
playlisted tracks.

The Golden Strands – Thief In The Night
Like a pop demo before it gets polished up, synthed to bits, and fed to the Sugarbabes – raw, with way more guitar work than you'd expect in your slice of top 10 pop-estry.
The Black Sand – Jurrasic Coastline
A bit of an Epic one, this – 6 minutes of textured electro-loveliness. Great stuff.
Annaca – Haunted
Gorgeous female vocals stretched across a lilting, swelling piano line – which then morphs into a jaunty sea-shanty ten seconds in. Fantastic.
A Friend In London – New Tomorrow
Very poppy, reminiscent of The Feeling, early Wannadies, and a Toys 'R' Us advert. Love it!
Leaving Atlantis – Da Capo
A track that at once reminds me of both Air's Virgin Suicides album, and Portishead. The sort of track you might hear in the background in This Life back in the day.

Mayhew - Magic Hour
Gorgeous, swelling strings work on this one. Complements the dual vocals massively. Hugely accomplished track.
Honor Amongst Thieves - Say What You Want
Reminiscent of an emo-rock jewel that might have kicked around the Kung Fu stable at the turn of the century - love this.
Midas Touch - Impulsive Action
Jazzy keys, a superb voice - fantasic.
The Rubicon - 0704
A track with drive, direction and everything that you want from a nice slice of rrrrock.
Little Signals - Head Over Fire
An explosive little three piece - definitely going places.

Winterhouse - Sleepy House
A soft, swishy vocal melts into a jingle jangle indie guitar line - a real seconds-after-midnight howl of a track. Superb.
Lighthouses - Control
Of course, this band are always gonna be compared to bands such as Foals - but these guys are a little softer, a little more forgiving - with a bit more more sway in their groove. A definite glitchy undercurrent too, with a bit of Atari ST cowbell chucked into the mix.
Ellie Lawson - London Town
Fantastic voice, great harmonies - great to hear an act like this inject a bit of pace into a track that could just as easily have turned into a love-letter to MOR blarney.
Butterflies On Strings - What Did John Stuart Hill Say Again?
From the opening phone-line vocal effect to the first verse that approaches Scouting For Girls-levels of pop sensibility you instantly know there's going to be something for everyone in the next couple of minutes. There's a bit of Shins in there, a bit of Modest Mouse - in a word, excellent.
Flight Brigade - A Girl Who Loves Her Smoke And Wine
Light, airy emo-acoustica from a band that at one point evokes fond memories of Dashboard Confessional, Julianna Theory and the very best that the late-90s west coast had to offer.
