Tumshie Smillie

Tumshie Smillie is Absolute Radio's award-winning daytime newsreader but can also be heard reporting live from the scene of the UK's biggest breaking stories.

Tumshie completed a degree in Broadcast Journalism at the University of Leeds and went on to work at CNN (Hong Kong), Stray FM (Yorkshire), The Eagle (Guildford), 2-Ten FM (Reading) Essex FM, SGR FM (Ipswich) and Time FM (Greenwich).

During her time with Absolute Radio she's covered everything from crime stories to the 2012 Olympic Games announcement, and has been lucky enough to hang out with the celebs on the red carpet at the Brit Awards and numerous movie premieres.

And as for that name? Yes it is real and woe betide you if you pronounce it incorrectly!
