Would you like to join the Absolute Radio Newsteam?
Absolute Radio is looking for journalism students to join the work experience programme at our central London studios. Competition is fierce, so you need to be over 18 and enrolled on a BJTC accredited course, studying for either a BA, MA or Postgrad in journalism - priority will be given to broadcast students.
Here's what else we're looking for:
- You need to show an interest in commercial radio news
- You should have an understanding of our output and what's relevant to Absolute Radio listeners as well as an appreciation of our playlist.
- Creativity - we're looking for people confident enough to generate ideas about a story and how to cover it.
- An understanding of the basic principles of audio editing and script-writing
Here's what you get back from us:
- Up to three weeks of work experience which may count towards your qualification
- The chance to get out and about with our reporters covering anything from crime to a red carpet event
- An opportunity to submit scripts to the on-air team
- Voice training and the chance to produce a demo to take away with you at the end.
