The Inauguration of Barack Obama

On
Tuesday January 20, Barack Obama was officially sworn in as the 44th President of the USA, and Absolute Radio followed the events leading up to the big inauguration.
An estimated
two million people made the trip to Washington, DC especially for the event (a city that has a normal population of only about half a million) and amid some massive security and billions of onlookers around the world, Barack Obama was sworn in at noon on Tuesday (5pm UK time). Absolute Radio's Adrian Hieatt is keeping a
blog of the events leading up to and after the occasion.
A huge number of events went on leading up to the ceremony, including a huge music concert featuring U2, Bruce Springsteen, Sheryl Crow and Stevie Wonder, and then another gig featuring Sting and Elvis Costello.
