Absolute Radio Playlist

From this week we have decided, on our play counts, to replace Capital with 6Music . The reason being that whereas Absolute and Capital used to share quite a few songs this is no longer the case as Capital is playing less and less current guitar music. For example, last week Absolute and Capital had only two current songs in common and one of them only received one play on Capital! We feel it is a more worthwhile survey if we compare our radio station with other stations that play a significant amount of guitar music – hence the introduction of 6Music.

On Absolute Classic Rock this week...

We're living life in the fast lane as we honour those Eagles. Hell has once again frozen over as the band hit the road and emabark on a series of UK shows. We're taking it to the limit with Russ "The New Kid In Town" Williams and Leona "Tequila Sunrise" Graham who give you Eagles double plays throughout your working week. Then on Friday night at 7 it's an hour of great Eagles tracks.

As another weekend of summer sunshine beckons why not enjoy Saturday night in style by cracking open a cold one, firing up the barbie and tuning in to the Absolute Classic Rock Party from 6pm- 4 hours of the best rock music on the planet- expect loads of Bruce Springsteen, Bon Jovi, AC/DC and Aerosmith.

On Monday night at 8pm, and exclusively on UK radio, Little Steven of The E Street Band continues his Underground Garage Show on Absolute Classic Rock.

This Wednesday afternoon from 2, Steely Dan's Walter Becker will be talking to Russ Williams about his European tour and solo album "Circus Money".
