I used to go here on Saturday mornings in the 70s when it was a soul club. It was brilliant. The World is a Ghetto by George Benson is the song that sticks in my mind about this place I rember the DJ was a much older man. After the Club we all use to go round to Contempo Records to buy the lastest songs we had just heard. Great memories.

Metallica played a secret gig at the 100 club to "break in" Jason Newsted when he joined the band as bass player after the tragic death of Cliff Burton in 1986.

A world-famous jazz club going back years and years, the Rolling Stones also played there, it later became infamous as the site of the two-day Punk Festival on 20-21 September 1976, with acts like The Clash, The Sex Pistols and The Buzzcocks. Siouxsie and the Banshees formed esepecially for the gig and played just one song - a 20-minute recital of the Lord's Prayer. During the festival, Sid Vicious lashed a bike chain at a journalist, smashed a glass that blinded a member of the audience, and was then arrested for carrying a knife
