A famous club in the 1960s, they helped Pink Floyd start their career as a regular feature at the club. Floyd left for bigger venues, and UFO found other bands such as Procol Harum to fill the gap. edit
Fairport Convention gigged there a lot too - in fact I think Joe Boyd signed them after a gig there.
It's not the UFO Club any more - it's an Odeon cinema - but this was Britain's first psychedelic club, with a house band called Pink Floyd (who went on to be quite big, by the looks of things). Procul Harum also played their second live gig here on the day A Whiter Shade of Pale was released.
