so many bands cut their teeth at the bridge at E16. It is a venue that should have had a preservation order on it. Whatever happened to The Corvettes, Secret Affair, and Wasted Youth - still got one of their albums somewhere, must dig it out ! Would love to travel back in time.

Bridge House Records - where are the royalties for all the acts on Mods Mayday '79??
Why were they not paid nor a single statement received by any band? simple - you ripped off every band recorded that night and u are still boasting about it to this day Mr Terry Murphy

The only success they ever had was off the back of Secret Affair who somewhat ironically set them up with a deal with their label Arista Records only to be ripped off themselves.....where is the money Terry? had a nice holiday, bought a nice car?
The CBS anti -piracy squad had a file an inch thick on so called Bridge House Records in the 80's - when you allow yourself to be recorded you trust in the people you record for....sometimes they turn out ot be scum.

Clown eh?ajrblues-you need to do your research before you leave such disparaging comments.Terry Murphy was a rip off merchant and still is.Not the heroe this article appears to make him.A lot of young artists that signed contracts with Bridgehouse records never got a penny as promised...I know first hand cos I was there.

A lot of arists that appeared on the mods mayday album should be gratefull that someone gave them a break. I was in a couple of the bands that woundedknee mentioned earlier. I dont know anyone who ever got anything from thier first record. Dont forget this was only a revival compilation. Did it get in the top 20? Dont think so.The biggest poseur of the lot was the singer from secret affair. I cant believe people are still going to see them. How many revivals would that be now then? I have an old

mate who was an original mod. He is 65 now. None of this lot know anytrhing about mods.
Surely its better to have left your mark, than to have done nothing at all.
Only the lucky few make a living out of it.

FYI Lee -Mods Mayday was not what broke Secret Affair...they were already a successful band in their own right by then and didnt need to be involved in that event at all,in fact it made no difference to their success having already had a successful hit by that time on TOTP.Clearly you dont know much about the scene by your foolish rermarks.
Re the lead singer from Secret Affair (his name is Ian Page by the way) he and the band have a massive following still to this day from teens to older mods

As for none of this lot knowing anything about being a mod you are much mistaken.I have been a mod since 1978 thank you very much and am proud to say that I still live the lifestyle in much the same way as the original 60s mods started.
