I totally agree - I hate all these types of programmes and never watch them. I feel sorry for all the real singers and bands that are out there gigging for sweeties and then someone gets on the X Factor and gets a number 1 hit ! It's all wrong.

Completely agree. These shows are just the modern equivalent of freak shows - by definition, anyone with any real talent would never want to appear on the X Factor etc.

Why is it every year they put them through to the finals and then say they shouldn't be there? It's all fixed anyway and like big brother should end

perhaps the scariest thing is that 15 million people watch it and every winner sells millions of records, regardless of whether they have any talent or not (usually the latter!). It is a money making exercise for the people involved and I am sure is so staged that cannot believe so many people waste money voting on this and other similar shows

I absolutely agree with Sting, the X factor has brought to a halt many aspiring new bands and singers progress in the music world.

Its not the programme and the makers , its the people who watch and support it I dont understand .I've heard people at the supermarket saying they just popped in to get fags and beer to watch the X Factor. I'd have to be sedated and tied up in front of the tv to watch that.

X Factor brought back the talent show and family night entertainment which was good, the whole family watching together etc. But it's turned into a monster, it's about the money they can make out of the acts not the acts. How many years have we heard the mentors say they'd make an act "stars" only to ignore them once they're out of the programme?
