I don't think Coldplay deliberately ripped Satch off, but there is significant similarities between the songs. Chris Martin probably caught a bit of the riff on the radio/ at home (he did apparently mention Joe Satriani in a 2002 interview so he knows who he is) and sub-conciously incorporated into his song. Whether you have heard of Joe Satriani or like his music, he is a respected musician and teacher who has been around a lot longer (at least 20 years) than Coldplay. Think he should be given
