Reading Festival 2009

I found out I'd won the Reading tickets the friday before the festival started and couldn't have been happier. I did however know that it would be difficult to get anyone to come with me at such short notice, as most went to Leeds, it being the closer festival to Blackpool. After much searching for someone, I decided to throw it open to anyone on Facebook. The first person to reply was my aunt's husbands granddaugther, Emily, who I'd only met once before, and had barely spoken to. I knew she was nice though, and we started planning straight away.
As the days towards Reading got closer I began to panic. The tickets had not arrived yet. After much stress on my own and Emily's behalf, We were told we'd get an email, so we paid for out train tickets and set off for Reading at 7 oclock Thursday morning. Upon arrival at 1 o clock we were told the Press List wasn't open until 5. Ouch.
Luckily after a wait of about half an hour, a girl appeared in the box and we were given our wristbands. Wow! Guest passes. So we found our special camping area with lovely toilets and showers (Not very rock and roll, but still cool). The first day of the music started and we realised we were allowed into the Guest Area, meaning we'd be spending the weekend with celebs! Amazing.
After making friends with a couple of lads camped next us, Nick and Adam, we went off to see the first band of the weekend. The Horrors. They blew us away. What a set, and then we had the pleasure of meeting the band after, who were all lovely. The weekend went fantastically well, and we didn't see any bands we didn't like. Nothing, however can come close to the last night.
We stood for Radiohead, and from the opening song of Creep we knew it was going to special. Half way through the set I was talking to a random girl who said I sounded like Gary Barlow. When she mentioned this a small guy turned round and began talking to us, I then realise it was Daniel Radcliffe, famous for laying Harry Potter. We spent the rest of the set chatting about music and lots of other things. What a truly nice guy, and Radiohead made it that little bit more special. Thanks Absolute for a termendous weekend!
