The Kooks at Isle of Wight 2008

Video and audio interview

Both Ben Jones and Arian Hieatt interviewed The Kooks at the Isle of Wight festival 2008.

Live review and photos

Being the biggest "band of the moment" to be playing at the Isle of Wight festival this year, there was a lot of expectation hanging on the shoulders of the guys from Brighton, and they didn’t disappoint!

Turning in what was by far the best performance of the day so far, the young four – piece set the arena alight from the minute they wandered onto the stage. The enthusiasm and passion for the event was more than evident as the whole band played an energetic and punchy set with smiles around throughout.

There was no time for chit chat from lead singer Luke Pritchard as they launched straight into the first song, "Always Where I Need To Be", which led to instant God like worship form the crowd – and rightly deserved!

From start to finish The Kooks totally engaged their audience; clapping, dancing and singing along from the crowd was present all the way through.

To round off an amazing set the quartet closed with “Naive” and “Shine On” in the build up to the much anticipated “Sofa Song.”

Who needs Sting and The Police when you’ve got these guys on the line up! Rock on The Kooks!!
