I know; I have everything they ever did and I was around when they were playing the cavern and saw them in Plymouth on the Hoe - but I will still have to buy this... And 'Come Together' was without doubt my favourite Beatles track of all time.
No fool like and old fool eh?

And even though I had all the albums already (although the first four only as LPs, because I refused to shell out for mono CDs, which were all that were available in the UK until the latest reissues), it was definitely worth it - the improvement in sound quality, particularly on the early albums, notably Help! is quite dramatic. The White Album really comes to life here - the original CD sounded quite thin, and the remaster brings out a lot of detail much more fully, and has a far greater dynamic range. Overall the CDs have a much fuller, richer sound, with the exceptions of Abbey Road and Let It Be which are only a little better-sounding - but then, the 1987 reissues of those albums sounded pretty good already. It's lovely having all the original sleeve notes, together with full details of recording history and loads of rare photographs. Another bonus is the DVD in which the group talks about the making of each album, with some nice archive footage. For any Beatlesobsessive like me, this is a real treat :)
