Beautiful dance/rave culture/trance/pop/rock n roll euphoria.

this is an epic album, of gigantic proportions
the opener 'Movin on up' is a 70's rock style track with help from a gospel choir, jazz piano and chirpy guitars. then comes 'slip inside this house'. although not written by the scream, the bass guitar and percussion are beautiful, a gloomy yet booming song. 'Dont fight it feel it' is the most uplifting song ive heard. it plays into your brain and any fan of music will appreciate the singing.

the the highlight of the album 'higher than the sun' is a dub epic. althouugh on 4mins long it really will knock you socks off, i cant express just how cool and ice this song is, you have to hear it to realise ther beauty.

other key tracks are 'Loaded' a very famous rock song, a classy gem and 'come together' which is absolutely genius, second only to 'higher than the sun'. and 'damaged' i feel is forgotten about for this is acoustic guitar and piano, make the vocals sound beautiful

This is a truly great album - the production is good but quite raw when compared to 'modern standards' - However, the innocence of the era shines though to create an interesting journey through the second summer of love.

A fantastic album. Essential to your Primal Scream collection, containing classics such as "Movin' On Up', 'Loaded', 'Come Together' and 'Higher Than The Sun'. Many of these songs continue to be used on TV adverts to this day. A blend of 80's energy with a warm, fuzzy and rhythmic sound.

Before this all I knew about Primal Scream came from tracks on the various 'Creation compilation' samplers I'd hunted down in local (alas, mostly long gone) indie shops. The Stonesy swagger I heard on those tracks hardly prepared me for this! Of course, the real innovation of 'Screamadelica' was as much in the MIX as the in the songs themselves, and this idea could and should have been the blueprint for more rock-rave-dance hybrids. Here in North America its impact maybe got a little lost and muted in the avalanche of mostly tuneless Seattle slobrock that flowed in the wake of 'Nevermind', but it still turned a lot of heads...

Now, Japan has just released 2CD 'mini lp' versions of the five studio releases from 'Give in...' to 'Riot City Blues'. The fact that they DIDN'T include 'Screamadelica' among these leads me to think/believe/hope that Sony is planning to give it the deluxe edition treatment. Providing they don't compress the life out of it, a sonic/packaging upgrade is most welcome. What a great, great album...

I put this album on today and the music sounds just as original today as it did nearly twenty years ago now. Although the music pulls inspiration from many different areas it's the dance and indie fusion which are its strongest element and feels as it did back then like two quite different worlds coming together. Although the Mondays were the first to start doing this, Screamadelica is the best representation of this sound. This is a fantastic album!
