Taking the piss at V

I am sick and tired of the Gallaghers taking the piss out of their paying fans. Four of us went to V and spent £300 to see Oasis in a festival environment all the other acts were secondary to them. What happens poor Liam goes sick, kif rumours are to be believed then they are not talking to each other and probably had another bust up... and then to cap it all Snow Patrol take over the main slot. I would have rather seen a recording of the Weston gig at the festival or better still Noel could have done the session anyway. I've seen them across the world and I am getting sick and tired of their atitude to their fans!!!!

I replied to another similar blog and said they have done this so many times before, us, the poor mug fans, never know the truth. The cliche of 'cryin wolf' once too often came to mind for me yesterday when I heard. I adore their music but in many ways they are undeserving of the fervent support they have in the UK. If a football team behaved like this they would be kicked out of the league for not fulfilling their fixtures! You have my sympathy buddy spending a fortune like that. Nigel

I fully understand where you are coming from with your comments, my daughter and her friend also attended the festival because of Oasis headlining. I wonder though, if Liam was ill how come he was well enough to attend the Man City game with his brother and assorted family members yesterday as seen on TV????? Oasis need to remember their fans are who got them the riches and status that they so wrongly now have!!

Yes I saw him on TV too. I personally hate the members of Oasis, like their music though. I would have loved to have seen Snow Patrol, would have actually bought a ticket and gone if I knew they'd be there. Went to Hylands last year to get soaked and didn't quite fancy a repeat.

I haven't been to a concert but I am a fan of Oasis. I have seen footage/videos of just Noel on his own making a good job of the concert despite his absent sibling!! Liam WAS getting away with absconding but I think Noel has had enough of his brother's behaviour, still it shouldn't be the fans that suffer just because the two of them are arguing!!

See my comment on Snow Patrol blog! Personally I agree with comments about how good SP were, I fell in love with them at the IOW 2005 festival & was pissed off with the way Oasis take the piss out of their fans, no surprise their were T-shirts about them being crap! Each to their own, I like quite a lot of their albums, but live? Many bands I'd rather see before I'd think of Oasis again! Sorry you were pissed off, I would've been if I payed for tickets but I was a serial winner in 2005! Malcolm aka The Nutty Prof now in a smoke free zone!

My advice - start giving your support and money to a band that deserves it. Even assuming that Liam was actually ill (which given recent rumours doesn't seem likely), as billy747 says above Noel could have sang instead. Not a fan of either band personally but kudos to Snow Patrol for stepping in to the headline slot.
