(144 views)Well, I had to cut my time in New England short because I had to get headed back south to allow for enough time to visit family. So, tonight finds me visiting family in Central New Jersey. This is the area I lived in before I relocated to Tampa, Florida in 2000. I guess you could call this my second hometown.
With that in mind - and since I drove through Sayreville, New Jersey on my way here, tonight's posting features Sayreville, New Jersey's own Jon Bon Jovi.
"Who Says You Can't Go Home" was written by Jon Bon Jovi and Richie Sambora for Bon Jovi's ninth studio album "Have a Nice Day" (2005). It was released as the second single in North America and reached the top thirty on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 singles chart, peaking at #23. Outside North America, "Welcome to Wherever You Are" was released as the second single with "Who Says You Can't Go Home" being released as the album's third single. The song reached #5 in the UK, becoming the band's second Top 10 single from "Have a Nice Day." A version of the song was also shipped to country music radio, featuring duet vocals from Jennifer Nettles of the duo Sugarland. This version was a #1 country hit in May 2006.

(219 views)So the weekend ayyy... Hmmm... Honestly, I can say nothing REALLY exciting has happened with me... Apart from getting some new Beatles and Bon Jovi LP's...
Although last night I did watch the new batman film, "The Dark Knight". It was a good film on the whole, but I have to say the last 10 seconds of the film were VERY cheesy indeed. As I remember it was the crooked cop saying something along the lines of:
"Because he's the hero Gotham deserves, but not the one it needs right now. So we'll hunt him because he can take it. Because he's not our hero. He's a silent guardian, a watchful protector. A dark knight". [END OF FILM].
Now is it just me or is that cheesy? The only time they say the words, "The Dark Knight", are in the last line. And what exactly is a Dark Knight? Anyway I'll calm down now... :)

(175 views)I've heard that Jon and Richie are going to be inducted in to the Song Writers Hall of Fame, does anyone know if this is true?
I think they certainly deserve it, they write songs that people can relate to, and to me that makes a great song writer, the artists that write the soundtracks to our lives. I don't just mean the big punch anthems like living on a prayer or ballards such as always. But some of the lesser known tracks such as undivided, Something for the pain, two story town, last man standing etc etc

Bon Jovi hails from Sayerville, New Jersey. Fronted by lead singer and namesake Jon Bon Jovi, the group originally achieved large-scale success in the 1980s. Over the past 25 years, Bon Jovi has sold over 120 million albums worldwide, including 34 million in the United States alone.
Bon Jovi formed in 1983 with lead singer Jon Bon Jovi, guitarist Richie Sambora, keyboardist David Bryan, bassist Alec John Such, and drummer Tico Torres. Other than the departure of Alec John Such in 1994 (which pared the lineup down to a quartet), the lineup has remained the same for the past 25 years.
After two moderately successful albums in 1984 and 1985, the band scored big with "Slippery When Wet" (1986) and "New Jersey" (1988), which sold a combined 19 million copies in the U.S. alone, charted eight Top Ten hits (including four number one hits), and launched the band into global super stardom. After non-stop touring, the band went on hiatus after the New Jersey Tour in 1990, during which time Jon Bon Jovi and Richie Sambora both released successful solo albums.
In 1992, the band returned with the double platinum "Keep the Faith" and has since created a string of multi platinum albums throughout the 1990s and 2000s.
In 2006, the band won a Grammy Award for Best Country Collaboration for "Who Says You Can't Go Home" with Jennifer Nettles from Sugarland and also became the first rock band to reach sumber one on the Hot Country Songs chart with the same song. The band has also received multiple Grammy nominations for music from the albums "Crush", "Bounce", and "Lost Highway".
Throughout their career, the band has released ten studio albums, of which nine have gone platinum in US. They also have seven nuimber one albums in Australia, six number one albums in Europe and Canada, five number one albums in UK, four number one albums in Japan, and three number one albums on US Billboard charts. In addition, the band has charted 19 singles to the Top 40 of the Billboard Hot 100, five of which reached number one: "You Give Love a Bad Name","Livin' on a Prayer", "Bad Medicine",and "I'll Be There For You") including Jon Bon Jovi's solo hit "Blaze of Glory". The band also holds the record for the most weeks for a hard rock album at number one on the Billboard 200 with "Slippery When Wet", as well as the most Top 10 singles from a hard rock album, with "New Jersey", which charted five such singles.
