For those not quite sure on whether or not Eric Clapton is for you, then this album is a good place to start. The eleven tracks on this album from the 70's are indeed some of Clapton's greatest moments despite being during his torrid drug and alcohol abusing days. This is a excellent introduction to Clapton and after listening to it you should know whether the rock/blues style of Clapton is for you. For those who already appreciate Clapton's genius and wish to have a comprehensive compilation album, then you may wish to give "The Cream of Clapton" a listen - it has 19 tracks, 8 more than this album. Cream of Clapton also encompasses some of his Cream hits and includes hits from the 60's-80's. However his most successful and critically aclaimed decade was the 70's - and every track on Time Pieces is highly commendable.

I love these well known songs. They are created with great tunes put to them and it is just a shame that there are only 11 tracks on this album. May be eric you can do another cd album with most of these on and a number of other great songs,to make it a longer cd.

I found myself a bit disappointed with this purchase. I am a fan of Eric Clapton, I have been to a concert and this CD just left me feeling empty. It contains all of the predictable tunes such as: "I Shot the Sheriff", "After midnight", "Wonderful tonight", "Knockin' on Heaven's door" and "Lay down Sally". As alluring as those tunes are , I was put off by the fact that the album only contains 11 songs. Along with the let down in album length, I felt Clapton could have included some "uncut" versions, unreleased songs, etc. I found this selection flat - even for an Eric Clapton fan.
