Favorite Clapton group?

Okay, you've got a time machine. It has three potential destinations. It's going to take you to a concert with EC in a band, playing at the top of thier game. The choices are:
A) Cream
B) Blind Faith
C) Derek and the Dominos

Which do you pick? And why?

No wrong answers here, just wondering.

It would have to be Cream! Not purely for Clapton but Ginger Baker at his skin bashing maddest & Jack Bruce! Arguably the driving force behind the Cream. D & D good but not Clapo's best.. What about his Yardbird days though??? Food for thought maybe?

Tough. Derek and the Dominoes gets a strong vote on the strength of Layla alone. Its just pipped at the post by Cream though. The greatest supergroup ever.

There would be something fantastic in seeing the power trio of Cream ripping it out. I think it would be the best show.

Now, Derek and the Dominos weren't together long enough to have the connection that existed between the members of Crean. But it's my fantasy, and in it, Eric and Duane Allman play together long enough to be tight on stage and push each other to new heights. And so, if this mythical level could have been reached, I'd voted for D & the D's.

I've got a bootleg life recording of Blind Faith. It's interesting but not very good. They weren't together that long either. But bear with me as I fantacize again. Blind Faith sticks together, Rick Gretch gets comfortable with them, the same with Winwood, and they feel okay with covering Traffic and Cream sings. EC & SW trading licks on "Dear Mr. Fantasy". SW adding organ to "White Room". Plus the Blind Faith songs.

But if I only have the time machine and I have to take the bands as they were, it's Cream.

But I missed the boat, not having Yardbirds in there.

My personal choice would have to be Cream. Love their music but Derek and the Dominos are not too far behind either. Really good stuff all around
