I was at him in the O2 in dublin, (was it last month or the month before?). It was my second time seeing him. I was in the third row and was just blown away by every musician on that stage. They really know how to use they're instruments. Legend!

Hi, Collectors' Choice is very excited to bring you it's first "true" new release: a new recording by former Manfred Mann frontman Paul Jones with many special guests, including Eric Clapton! The release date for this special recording is March 10th, 2009. Here's more information about the release: Artist: PAUL JONES Title: Starting All Over Again We've released just about every kind of recording under the sun during the 15 years our Collectors' Choice Music label has been doing business. But the one thing we haven't done is release a new recording made especially for our label... 'til now. What did it take to get us to venture into the treacherous world of contemporary recording? Well, how about the first solo record in many years from ex-Manfred Mann and Blues Band vocalist Paul Jones, made with a glittering cast including Austin guitar stalwart Jake Andrews, legendary saxman Ernie Watts, Hollies vocalist Mikael Rickfors, Neil Young bassist Tony Marsico, Stevie Wonder (among others) drummer Alvino Bennett, Eagles keyboardist Mike Thompson and two guys you may have heard of, soul legend Percy Sledge and guitarist uber-legend ERIC CLAPTON (Paul and Eric actually teamed back in the '60s in the shortlived group Powerhouse on our What's Shakin' reissue)! EC actually appears on two cuts here, Choose or Cop Out and the title track, while Paul duets with Percy on the bonus track, Big Blue Diamonds. The other tracks, which range from swingin' to smoldering, bluesy to boppin', include Lover to Cry; If You Love Me (Like You Say); Sundown; I'm Gone; Philosopher's Stone; Still True; Need to Know; Gratefully Blue; When He Comes, and Alvino's Entourage. Saw him at Blackbush on the same bill as Bob Dylan and he was good then but that was the late 70's. Wouldn't pay that amount of cash to see him but Boris can probably afford it!!!

I can't quite imagine paying £1500 for any show but this might possibly have been worth it: http://www.spoonfed.co.uk/spooners/jhallam-2972/eric-clapton-at-floridita-461/ Sounds like it was brilliant, although I'm not sure I would have enjoyed sharing the experience with Boris Johnson. Have any of you actually seen Clapton live? Was it everything you expected?

I love this song - the music, the lyrics, the feeling. It's will be one of his timeless songs for certain.
