Totaly agree, she as not got the voice to cover a classic of that calibar of song.Classics like that should only be consided by artist with a long history behind them.Even then they are best left be.

not sure i want to hear it either. On the subject, does anyone know any good covers of ELO songs (or any covers at all). Beautiful South did a reasonable version of llvin' thing on their excellent covers album but cant think of many others

I agree with all the comments so far - have heard it, and it really is naff ... like a tone-deaf 5-year-old singing, only without the charm ;-) Rob - yes, I agree the Beautiful South version of Livin' Thing was good. There is a double CD of ELO cover versions called "Lynne Me Your Ears", but to be honest I don't think any of the covers (and there are 32 of them) match up to the originals, even though some of them are by artists I respect (unlike Ms. Allen), e.g. Earl Slick, Todd Rundgren, Carl Wayne and Tony Visconti.

No I havent heard it, but I have a feeling that she might not do it justice. I do like some of Lily Allens music but I would rather she left ELO alone
