Me and my mum are huge fans of Britney Spears, so when she came back with her single ' Gimme more', we just couldnt wait until her album came out. Blackout is the best album i have listened to, it makes you want to sing and dance around your house. Her songs are pop/dance and my favourite tracks are; Piece Of Me, Cold As Ice and Soldier Boy. Im so glad shes back because this proves that the old Britney is back. Mint album, you deffintly should buy it.

Britney hasn't had it easy in the past year or so. Last year, it was exposed to the world that Britney had shaved her head entirely BALD and was on the brink of a meltdown! Other shocking incidents occurred when a furious bald Britney attacked a papparazzo with an umbrella; K-Fed held full custody over her sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James and Britney was swinging back and forth to Rehab like a yo-yo. But, however bizarre Britney's life may be, then and now, there's one thing that is keeping her- and her fans- going. When "Blackout" hit stores last October, it had been four years since her fourth studio album "In The Zone". Paying no mind to Britney's long absence in the music industry, "Blackout" is Britney's most infectious, enticing album she has ever recorded! From the energy-packed, spirit-lifting "Heaven On Earth" to the garage-influenced party-popping "Freakshow", this CD is packed with song variety and experiments with fresh, new sounds, nothing quiet like Pop music itself has ever witnessed. My favourite track on the entire album has to be the futuristic "Danja"-produced "Get Naked (I Got A Plan)". With Danja's odd, echoed yet unique "Baby, baby, baby's" grinding with the swift colourful beat, and Britney's seductive "dirty" lyrical convo, this up-tempo light-injected anthem is full of life, and I certainly defy anyone whom may sit still to this glowing "lava lamp" shaped into music.

"Break The Ice" is the astonishing phenomenal break-through forward to Britney's new era of sound, accompanied by choir-style backing vocals and a rather peculiar alarm ringing in the background. While most of the song has mainly an up-tempo balance, it gradually breaks down when Britney confidently boasts "I like this part, it feels kinda good". Lightly dropping to a down-tempo support, the song breaks into two pieces of pure pop enlighten into one whole classic thiller! "Toy Soldier" may too, be one of the many shinny gems on this diamond-sparkling album, pumping with a "marching-soldier-brigade" style chorus with a hyper-active Britney casting lyrical magic- definate single-material! Danja-Produced "Hot As Ice" shows Britney's chipmunky vocal talent to the perfect extent, what-with the poppy, "girly" vibe conquering the beat! With bubbly, self-contradicting lyrics- "I'm cold as fire baby, hot as Ice", this track shines with originality and feel-good status! "Ooh Ooh Baby" is pure pop at its finest and by-far the catchiest number on "Blackout"! The "too much information" yet amusing soft-sexual describing chorus has Britney splurging "Ooh Ooh Baby, touch me and I come alive, I can feel you on my lips, I can feel you deep inside", not to mention the hilarious "You're fillin' me up, you're fllin' me up, you're fillin' me up, you're fillin' me up, you're fillin' me up with your love"!

The second single taken from the album, "Piece Of Me", which was a UK #2 hit, is another major exception! This track recaps on all the havoc that Britney is putting up with in her famous lifestyle, both past and present! With it's '80s synth vibe and Britney's almost-robotic-like sound vibrating from her throat, this track will amuse and confuse you! Extremely catchy with the clever lyrics, you'll soon be addicted to this track! "Gimme More", Britney's lead-single from "Blackout" which was a UK #3 hit is another topic which is relevant to mention. "Gimme More", produced by Danja lyrically describes a sexual tension arisen and personal occurrences in Britney's almost chaotic life. Catchy, yet very repetitive, it is a golden nugget to this collection of heavenly pop!

As an overall conclusion, "Blackout" has to be one of the very most prodigious, miraculous efforts of 2007, and in Britney's whole career, for that matter! Unmentioned crackers like "Radar" and "Why Should I Be Sad" also add up to this astonishing essential pop package! In my truthful and honest opinion, "Blackout" certifies as Britney's most satisfying, spirited album she has every delightfully recorded! If you haven't already brought this CD yet, then your pop collection is incomplete without this stunning, superb record! Buy this album now- you'll be dancing, smiling so much, you'll never want to take it out of your CD Player! Definite Five stars!

With all the negative media she's been getting recently seems to be souring our view of Britney, but lets not forget she's still as talented as she ever was.
Sure Britney has mechanics making her voice sound a bit better, but doesn't every singer have help these days. also the mechanical sound suits pop.
Gimme more 10/10-Very catchy,pop at it's best
Piece of me 10/10-Great lyrics, unique tune, one of her best songs yet.
Radar 8/10-catchy pop song, not the best on this album
Break the ice 10/10-particularly suits Britney's voice, nice background
Heaven on Earth 9/10-Love her voice in this song, nice melody
Hot as ice 7/10-Pretty good just not as memorable as her other songs
perfect lover 10/10-Great beat, makes you want to dance
Ooh ooh baby 10/10-In my opinion the best song of the album, catchy
Freakshow 10/10-How pop should be,fun.
Toy soldier 10/10-Can't help singing to it
Get naked 9/10-Bit repetitive, but the great beat makes up for it
Why should I be sad 6/10-A worth listening to song but the weakest
