This album is being released without the consent of the band by their previous record label.

It consists of singles and songs from their 3 beggars banquet releases.

I would advise you to purchase the 3 separate albums, rather then this one release as it won't make sense for a new listener to hear these songs in this order.

To put it in perspective, would you listen to 'Master of puppets' followed straight away by 'St anger'?

p.s [ I appreciate most people wouldn't want to listen to 'St anger' again, lol metallica, what were you thinking!]

Every song on this CD is fantastic. Without exception.

But if you buy it, you'll be missing more, equally and often more fantastic album tracks from the other 3 albums.

It would be a great one to learn the basics from before you see them at a festival, it's a great one to get a nice overview of what Biffy have sounded like over the past few years, but I'm inclined to agree with the first review. There's so much more to Biffy Clyro. Don't limit yourself to the singles.

However, Biffy are bloody popular in the mainstream lately, and the new people who are just being "cool" might be better off with a Singles collection, so when fashions change it will sort out the *fans* (old and new) from the band wagon jumpers. I can't say it enough, if you love Biffy you'd be happier for buying the albums too. :)

However, one thing that pleases me about it, is that if people do buy it instead of the other 3 albums, at least we'll still get to sing en masse and know everyone else knows the words too! (something that lacked a little last time I saw them)

Either way though, can't fault the songs, can't fault the band. Best band in the world. Enjoy. x

The other review of this made me laugh quite a lot - what were Metallica thinking with St. Anger? If only there were some kind of document or even a documentary we could refer to detailing what they were up to in that period...

Anyway, back to the Biff. This is as good an introduction as you could hope for, geared towards people who came to them through Puzzle and are perhaps unaware of what the band sounded like before. If you're a Biffy fan already you probably own most of the music on here so it's a pointless buy but if you're new to the band it could be useful taster for their earlier stuff.

I don't know where the guy got the 'against the wishes of the band thing' either - there's nothing to say they're unhappy with it. He might be thinking of Radiohead.

There are definite reasons to get this CD, for us completists.

1) There is an exclusive edit of '27', basically the album version with a fade.

2) This is the only commercially available CD to have the radio edit of 'Toys Toys Toys' (available on the 7" and promo CD) and of 'Jaggy Snake' (available as a download).

Geeky, but there you go.
