Personally i'd like to get biffy clyro in the studio with rihanna, let the creative vibes flow, cos i reckon with biffys arrangement the vocal combination would make this an outstanding collaboration.....

Biffy Clyro's Simon Neil was almost thrown out of his own gig after security mistook him for a fan. The frontman, who regularly stage dives at Clyro concerts, climbed the balcony during a recent show in Birmingham, but then couldn't find his way back onto the stage. He attempted to force a door and return backstage only to be stopped by security, who marched him towards the venue exit. "Usually when Simon goes AWOL I'll go after him in case anything goes wrong," the band's manager told the Daily Record. "But unfortunately this time my speed was scuppered by having to run up the stairs on the opposite side of the balcony then around the perimeter. "He then attempted to get out, but after trying the fourth door and realising it didn't lead backstage, he gave it a bit of a kick. It was at that point the security guards got hold of him. By the time I got to him, he was in the process of being marched outside by the four security 'gentlemen'. They seemed to have no idea who the topless bearded Scottish man shouting at them was." Biffy Clyro are currently working on their fifth studio album, which is expected to be released later this year.

Biffy Clyro record new album in a barn

Bassist James Johnston says the Scottish trio have retreated to a barn to work on new material. He told BBC 6 Music: "We've been working hard on a little farm in a little barn, working on demos and new songs. "We are not quite ready to go yet, we probably won't go into it until next year. We'd love to put it out as soon as possible but we just need to be patient and get everything right." After scooping the honour of Best Festival Rock Act at last week's UK Festival Awards, James also urged successful bands to cut the fees they demand for festival performances in light of the credit crunch. He said: "I know that some of the fees that bands get paid are extraordinary. "It's easy for me to say, not being one of those acts, but maybe the bands could just take a little bit less."
