Absolute Radio: Discover real music

This is nice little DVD made up mostly of songs from his EP releases (which can now be found on the collated album supersunnyspeed...) and from his second solo album 'Songs for Silverman' and there's a couple of old Ben Folds Five tracks in here as well. The show was set up to be an intimate live gig with people requesting songs online through MySpace. This does kind of mean that there's not too much linking each song as it's not been planned but the songs fit together well and Ben goes at them with his usual high enthusiasm.

The concert is not full gig-length, it's about an album's length. I don't have many DVDs of people doing concerts but this one is really representative of what it's like to see Ben live; he's joking with the crowd and interacting with his drummer Lindsay and bassist Jamie. It's a sweet collection of songs and if you like Ben is a great DVD to pick up. If this is the first you've heard of him you should probably check out his albums first, but follow it up with this!
