I was really worried I wasn't gonna like this for some reason. I love all their old stuff but haven't heard them in a while and didn't think htey'd be able to live up to their greatest hits, but having just heard 'I started a Fire' and 'You can't have it all' I'm really excited. Can't wait for the album now.

Anyone else going to Reading festival to see them?

Hmm sorry to disagree, But I don't think it offers much over the older and, imho, better stuff. It is really rather formulaic it sounds like a thousand and one other Ash songs. I do really like the whole catchy pop rock thing but the Ash sound just hasn't progressed or developed at all. I have a lot of the old stuff and whilst the new stuff is good I can't see myself fiorking out £15 on a CD of it when it offers nothing new.

To say that Ash haven't evolved or progressed at all is a tad dismissive. I saw them on their recent tour and man alive, their new stuff is amazing. Have you heard 'In Hell'? It's such a massive sound and really intense and not at all how I ever imagined Ash would sound, but at the same time not so alien that I didn't like it.
I personally love the progression you can see through all their albums, while they are always best at making punk pop they always manage to sound different. I'd definitely reccomend the album based on their recent live performances. I haven't been this excited about a new album in forever!
