Christian brings Golden Square to a halt

The Golden Square came to a taxi-filled standstill as Christian and VBH gave away 100 Pure Highway in-car DAB digital radios to the first hundred London cabbies to get to the Square.

After the success of our London DAB giveaway we decided to send Jo Russell around the country to give more listeners the chance to win a Pure Highway in-car digital radio. We sent Jo in a transit van to Nottingham and Manchester in the middle of winter.

Christian had a few words to say:

"Well, when we asked a hundred London cabbies to come to Golden Square on a Monday morning I thought four would turn up, even though we were handing out a hundred DAB Pure Highway in car radios (it's DAB but it works with your existing stereo).

We watched out the studio window as they all started to trundle into the square from 8 O Clock and couldn't believe it when there was way over a hundred within the hour.

Anyway, thanks to all of the cabbies who risked getting a parking ticket from the pesky warden and I hope it's worth it. Remember if you're not a cabbie or haven't won one on Absolute Radio, you can buy one at Amazon - they make great Christmas presents."
