The ninth band in session for 2011 was
Guillemots. The exclusive gig took place at Hard Rock London.
We gave one of our listeners the chance to be our Hard Rock VIP at the recent Guillemots gig, and here’s the review of what Marko Keser thought of the event:
Guillemots at Hard Rock Cafe, not the hardest rocking band you'd think but you'd be wrong. Musically Guillemots rock pretty damn hard.
They hopped onto to the stage to a subdued response from the crowd and proceeded very quickly to whip them into shape.
Kicking off with what turned out to be a very fun and rich musical journey.
With some of the musical complexity lost with the technical problems with sound, the band indeed played on.
And how! These guys are tight. So tight that they changed their set slightly according to crowd mood.
Hats off to them for getting the vibe totally right and going with it.
Visually they were like 4 totally random people put together.
A pub rock drummer, indie lead guitar, rap queen (fully kitted with a button Adidas gown) on bass and art-house on vocals but musically Guillemots really came together.
Throw in some mini burgers, a few brewskies and you got yourself something to write home about. Guillemots rock - 'nuff said.
