Sony Ericsson’s Fly On The Ball
And the winner is.... James Roe!
It’s not only
Baddiel & Skinner who are off to South Africa for Absolute Radio this Summer, James Roe has been chosen to be Sony Ericsson’s Fly On The Ball during the 2010 FIFA World Cup™!

James Roe from Liverpool won a competition on the Christian O’Connell Breakfast Show to be Sony Ericsson’s “Fly On The Ball” in South Africa during this summer’s 2010 FIFA World Cup. He’ll be reporting back to us throughout the tournament on what he’s been getting up to.
We thought it’d be nice for James to introduce himself to you all, so over to you James!
Hi everybody!
My name is James and I am a student in my final year at Liverpool University, studying Psychology. That’s me on the right.
My brother Ed, he’s the guy on the left, is a typical 18- year old who hasn’t got a clue what to do with his life! Ed is the jammiest git ever who manages to weedle his way into anything and everything that he can, he once sold an empty chocolate wrapper to his mate for 50p, true story!!!
However, he does have one skill that will really come in handy in South Africa in June, he is a complete statto. Move over Chris Kamara, John Motson eat your heart out, this kid really knows his stuff! He once claimed to that if he could have taken an A-Level in Football results he’d have got an A. He then tried to use this as an excuse for his real A-Level results!
When it came to choosing who to take with me, it had to be him, but mainly because he said he’d never speak to my girlfriend or I ever again if I took her over him, it was a foregone conclusion! Neither of us have ever been to South Africa before and we really can’t wait to get there, experience the atmosphere as England romp through to victory and most importantly, report back to you guys so you know exactly what it’s like.
So make sure you’re following our blogs throughout the World Cup, it’s going to be a hell of a ride and hopefully, come July 11th the whole of England will be going mental when England smash Spain 4- 0* in the final!!!
James
