So Brian has a week off on holiday. Christian, VBH and myself have all returned yet Brian has decided it would be a good time to disappear himself. He missed a ding dong this morning.

This is VBH with the handbag that Christian bought for his wife's birthday last week. She didn't like it, and we could all see why. All that is apart from the man himself. He ended up swapping it with a man offering 80 mince pies this Friday.
What do you reckon? High fashion or a prop from ITV's fine drama 'The Royal?' If only Brian was here to pass comment.

Day Four of my first week at Absolute Radio...

As I'm new this week I'm not sure whether or not I'm being wound up or not. Today we spoke about TV memorabilia you'd like to own. Mine would be JR's Stetson. Ben's was the Delorian. Matt called in and said "Monkey's cloud - from Monkey Magic"? Was this really a show when we were growing up? Plenty of people said it was so I'll concede defeat!

Also today we discussed whether or not pet owners are right when they say things like "my cat is sulking with me because he knows I'm emigrating". My argument was - how do you know it's sulking, does it tell you? Plus, how does it know you're emigrating? The reply was "he saw me getting down my suitcase." It's a tough call as I know if you have pets you love them dearly and they are your family, but despite the amount of texts and Kath from the Pet Relocation Service backing up the cats, I'm not convinced!

Tomorrow - last one from us before Christian returns on Monday!

A marathon today as we started the show early at 4am. The theory was, we'd build up to the announcement of the new President Elect. We'd get tense as the result was close, and phrases like "there's never been a turn out like it" and "oh it's too close to call" would be whispered in dramatic voices. Then at 4.05am it was all over! Obama won! Brilliant! Now what to do for 5 hours 50!
So we concentrated on our favourite movie presidents, gave away an Apple Ipod 16GB and £1000 to spend at John Lewis. We also found out that Obama's step mum lives in Bracknell! Unfortunately no confirmation came in that he would be turning on Bracknell Christmas Lights this year.
More Kid Rocks tomorrow, we wonder if you start to lose your mind when you get a pet and the sure sign that Christmas is here!

Day 2 sitting in for Christian will always be remembered for 2 things, the day Ben Jones finally took his hat off and the day that Brian, Christian's producer, almost smiled! I have my own sweepstake going, and I think that tomorrow will be the day we finally crack him.

Also, on the show today we explored weird teacher punishments which ranged from standing with a waste paper bin on your head (if you were really bad you had to freestyle with the bin!) to having your bottom smelt to see who had farted!
Stories too of inappropriate things a pilots have said on the tannoy in a crisis. These include "oh well it's now or never" - "we're going down and we're going down fast" and "let's try this, they don't call me eagle eyed Steve for nothing".
On from 4am tomorrow to be here when the American Election votes are counted and verified!

My first day by Jo Russell

First day on the show and I was concerned at how nervous and sick I would feel so was thrilled to hear I'd be expertly assisted by Ben Jones. The man with the hat. The crime against fashion. I thought I'd steam in with awkward questions nice and early in my Absolute career and ask Ben a) why the hell he wears a hat all the time and b) if we could bribe him to take it off. He agreed to do this on the show tomorrow with the bribe of £500.00 to a charity of his choice. Lets wait and see if he does!
I've also become really obsessed with spotting Celebs now I'm in London and frankly it's not going well. You are doing tons better than me though with sightings of Mark Knopfler, Hugh Grant, Paul McCartney and possibly my favourite - Val Kilmer on a budget airline!

Tomorrow we'll be talking about a recent "experience" of mine which resulted in my younger cool brother saying "that's nice for you, but it's my idea of hell"

Well this morning Christian launched a new feature called "Who are you". The premise is this. Call up a random stranger and pretend to be their old woodwork teacher "Mr Craddock".
Can he convince them that he used to be their old teacher?
