Trained at London's National Broadcasting School in Programming and Journalism, Russ won the school's 'Most Outstanding Student' award. This led to a journalist job at Brighton's Southern Sound Radio, before moving to Finland where he presented his own show on Helsinki's Radio 1. Russ returned to the UK and joined Newcastle's Metro Radio. He then defected to London's Capital Radio to present the Weekend Breakfast Show, which remained his domain for three years, he often stood in as holiday relief for Chris Tarrant. Also presenting The Rebel Yell Rock Machine syndicated across the nation's airwaves, he established himself as an eminently talented broadcaster before moving to One Golden Square, where he has already won two Gold Sony Radio Awards and a Gold New York Radio Award.
A devoted Spurs fan, Russ has had two books published, 'Football Babylon 1' was a bestseller and led to 'Football Babylon 2', which was released at the end of 1998. He has also written about football for The Express, 90 minutes, Goal Magazine and Total Football.
Russ is also part of the ITV Sport Team, and has done tons of sports shows for ITV1 since the summer of 1999.
He has accumulated three Gold Sony Awards during his time at One Golden Square. He now hosts the station's 10 - 1 pm week-day slot.
