Martin White

Dave Gorman's co-host, Sundays from 10am.

Comedian and songwriter Martin White is best known for his accordion-playing appearances in Robin Ince's cult comedy show The Book Club and occasional musical contributions to BBC2's The Culture Show, as well as regular appearances on the live comedy and cabaret circuits. More recently he has been pouring his efforts into increasingly ambitious live orchestral projects with his 30-piece band The Mystery Fax Machine Orchestra.

As a musical collaborator and arranger he has found himself working with the likes of Jarvis Cocker, Bjork, Amanda Palmer, Malcolm Middleton, Robyn Hitchcock and Luke Haines. He continues to work regularly with Robin Ince as the musical director for his large-scale comedy galas and also, alongside Josie Long, as co-presenter of Ince's Paramount Comedy podcast Show & Tell. In 1997 Martin composed the score for Danielle Ward's musical Psister Psycho and the two have since gone on to create the popular live-band karaoke show Karaoke Circus.

Currently he is hard at work on The Mystery Fax Machine
Orchestra
's first album and a new musical about a flea circus, in addition to composing the score for a feature film about stand-up comedians.
