On the Absolute Radio Network
Martyn Lee is a radio presenter with a wealth of experience and loves sharing great music with his listeners. He must be one of the hardest working people here because he's on weekdays from 10am on Absolute 80s, then over to Absolute Radio 70s on weekday afternoons and also Absolute Classic Rock at night.
Martyn's journey to the world famous One Golden Square started early when he caught the radio bug as a music mad teenager at just 15, working weekends for the local radio station in his native Norfolk. A few years later he made the jump into being a presenter and never looked back. Along the way he has also been a Head Of Music (so he got to pick the songs) and Programme Director for a regional station in the South (so he got to pick the songs AND the DJs!)
Martyn first joined Absolute Radio to be reunited with old friends Christian O'Connell and Richie Firth, with whom he'd worked 10 years previously, but after a stint in production, he moved back to his first love of being on air.
Since then he's interviewed everyone from 80s pop legends like Duran Duran and Spandau Ballet to rock gods such as Alice Cooper and Bryan Adams.
It's a dream to work at Absolute Radio. Literally. I remember going to the Isle of Wight Festival in 2007 as a festival-goer when I worked somewhere else and seeing all the portable studios next to the stage built to host the backstage shows, it just looked amazing, and in true Del Boy fashion allowed myself to dream 'this time next year...' Well it actually took two years to be part of the team here and every day I think I've got the best job in the world.
